Hello!

Please help me return to Firefox. I miss it. :(

I’ve had to switch to Chrome because I can’t seem to get Firefox for iOS to auto fill the passwords I have saved when trying to log on to every website that required a username or password. I’m not talking about the passwords saved to my iCloud Keychain. I’m talking about the ones specifically saved to my Firefox account.

The passwords auto fill on the desktop Firefox just fine (both Windows and MacOS), but for some reason the Firefox for iOS app doesn’t auto fill the passwords.

Both Save Logins and Show in Application Menu are toggled on, so I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong.

If someone can help me fix this, I will gladly return to Firefox! Thanks so much.

For school, I use duo as a two-step authenticator. I get this message when I select the option to remember this device: “You need to enable cookies in order to remember this device”. I already tried to disable the tracking protection for the website. I don't see any options that allow me to enable cookies. I use an iPhone 12. Firefox and my iPhone are up to date. I appreciate any help! Thank you.

Hi, I just downloaded an update for Firefox for iOS (my iPhone 7 is running iOS 14.8), and the browser simply does not work anymore. No matter where I tap on the screen it refuses to respond, unless I hold the app icon on the home screen and do stuff like "open new tab" or "open latest bookmark" from there, in which case it technically does those things but still refuses to actually load the site, and still doesn't respond to my input. The address bar doesn't respond, the home button doesn't respond, the back and forward arrows don't either, and neither do the other two icons (tabs and menu). My wireless connectivity still functions (I'm able to use Safari and other apps), and my phone screen responds to input with other apps. Furthermore, I've offloaded and reinstalled the app TWICE now. How do I get Firefox to actually do anything without totally uninstalling it and reinstalling it, and thereby losing all my bookmarks?

I updated my iPhone app to version 40 a few days ago. Ever since, I cannot use Firefox. I try to open it, and it freezes and shows a black screen (despite having several tabs open). I have tried deleting the app and reinstalling. I had to reopen the each of my old tabs individually. It worked for a few hours but has stopped working again. I have a lot of tabs open and I do not want to keep reinstalling it and reopening all of them to be able to use the app.

When i open the app, it immediately becomes unresponsive and refuses to load. When i switch out and back in, it acts like im opening it for the first time, which leads me to believe its crashing.

This only happened recently, so it must've been an update (either ios or the app, i cant be sure on the timeline) that broke things.

I do have a bajillion tabs open, but thats never been a problem before - i use firefox solely for browsing AO3

And i cant even close any because its completely unresponsive…

Hey Everyone,

I updated Firefox for iOS to version 40 yesterday and the app is now inaccessible. I am on iOS 14.8.1.

Menu icons and address bar are visible but not accessible. None of the menus or functionality are working. It shows just a solid black screen.

I’d delete and re-install but will lose a bunch of bookmarks. Is there a way to rescue those before deleting and re-installing app? Thanks!

I'm at my wits end. I am not a computer person, so a lot of the explanations on the help pages make little sense to me. I spent hours this weekend trying to figure this stuff out to no avail. I'm guessing my firefox version updated sometime in the last week on my iphone because all of the sudden all my settings are messed up.

Firefox no longer opens to my homepage (even when I identify a homepage url for it to open). It no longer closes windows when I quit the browser, in fact it leaves several windows open forever until I manually close them. This is why I left safari, when I close the application I'm done. I don't want to start at the last website I was on or leave windows open. Firefox now appears to turn every website I visit into a shortcut! And to top it off there is no easy way to turn any of these "features" off.

Apparently if I tap and hold the "Firefox Daylight 38.1 (6216)" five times there is a list of settings that can be adjusted (. . . why would you hide settings like this)? But these setting make no sense.

For example: "Debug: Toggle Start at Home: OFF"

Does "on" mean "on" or "off"? Because I appear to get the opposite results of what the standard definition of these words normally suggest on some of the settings, but the normal meaning on others.

All I want is for firefox to: 1) open on my homepage (or any consistent page at this point) every time I open it. 2) quit leaving windows open when I close the app. 3) quit going to the last page I visited on the internet next time I open the browser 4) quit creating a shortcut for every site I go to on the internet 5) it would be nice if it would clear my history without me having to manually do it every time, but I don't want to get greedy.

Basically, I want whatever version was on my phone last week that worked.

I don't know what happened but after years of loving firefox and using it every day I am now deleting it. I don't want Yahoo as my search engine. It doesn't work as well as google and I can't figure out how to get goggle back. So I'm going back to Safari. As much as I don't like it at least it lets me set google as my search and home page. And I have contributed in the past. Not a lot but I have contributed money.

Within the last few days my firefox app on my iphone has stopped functioning correctly. When I open a new tab, instead of opening it right next to the previous tab, it opens them at the bottom. It gets weirder because moving tabs around causes those previous tabs to potentially appear where they should but other tabs are also moving around weirdly as well. I've had tabs at the bottom appear at the top, tabs in the middle move to the bottom, and a general weirdness to where tabs are and where they're getting moved to when I move other tabs.

I've also been able to initiate multiple crashes when I move a tab that's been moved to the top while I was moving another tab that was supposed to be at the top back up there, to the bottom where the tab originally was at the very bottom. If I had to describe it, it's like the app is having problems knowing where tabs are supposed to be or which tab is where.

Both the app and the iphone 6 are to the latest updates of both the OS and the firefox app (I'd argue the problems probably started around the time the firefox app updated but it autoupdates so I can't be certain).

The IOS home button placement is by in large the dumbest idea I’ve seen on a web browser to date. For years the refresh button has been right there exactly where its perfectly useful, easily accessible but not in the way as I use the refresh button fairly often for various reasons. But now its the home button, a feature I've never used and a feature I can’t think of a particular use for. Which is fine I’m not the only user in the world I don't expect that every feature can be tailored exactly to my tastes, I'll just pop into the settings disable the home button and move the refresh button back to where it works best for me like on desktop... but I can’t do that for some gods forsaken reason, don't get me wrong I understand app development is difficult but I for a fact you can make adjustable menus in IOS, I've personally done it for a college project.

And yes, yes I'm aware you've added the pull down to refresh function which is neat i guess but utterly useless when I'm 8 miles down a page and I subconsciously hit the home button since its where the refresh button use to be and now whatever i was looking at is buried once more in the bowels of the internet with no way to just hit a back button to return to that page. Its beyond dumb, so be smart either move it back or make a way for people to put it back.
