I am guessing that Firefox recently ran an update because a website that I access regularly without difficulty (https://fortnine.ca/) I can no longer access and get the"Secure Connection Failed SSL_ERROR_PROTOCOL_VERSION_ALERT" error page. This just started recently (well, in the last week because I have not gone to that page in just over a week). I have seen this before and usually WORK AROUND it by copying the link and opening in Chrome. I do not want to do that, I want Firefox to open it. Yes, I do run Adblock Plus and NoScript, but I have NEVER had this error with those running before. Tried to upload a screenshot but that didn't work either. I have been using Firefox since version 1.0 and really don't want to be forced to switch to Chrome because of "feature creep".

I cannot save credit card information. I never get a prompt for it so I decided to check the settings. I see that there is no option to add any credit cards anywhere. I reviewed previous questions asked about this saying to go into "Privacy & Security" but the credit card section isn't even there.

I am done with Google and their shenanigans so i decided to move back to firefox. When i imported my list of bookmarks; the bookmarks have a globe beside the label in the toolbar under address bar. How can i easily get the icons to show up for the different sites...Like reddit used to have the red reddit logo as the icon.

I had a MAJOR crash of my computer caused by a Windows Update. When I got the machine back, my bookmarks were gone. I tried to import them from an HTML file that was created just prior to the crash, but Firefox is not importing the bookmark file. I select the file, and nothing happens.

Where to from here??

I only have this problem on firefox. On chrome all livestreams are fine, but on firefox there is this crackling noise that is driving me crazy. Everytime i have to open chrome and firefox just for a music livestream. I've already tried everything but the issue is still here. Can someone help me solve this?

I'm not sure if this is my Firefox acting up, or just the aftermath of Utorrent installing Web Companion, restoring sessions in Firefox hasn't been possible. Firefox does remember my history, but it shows no options for restoring session or restoring tabs. I've already done a refresh, I've deleted web companion and run CCleaner and Malwarebytes Adwcleaner and they show my system is clean, but I still can't get restore sessions to work.

What's going on, and how can I fix this?

I was trying to open and view a saved PDF file just from my desktop and it always opens with Chrome. I want to be able to view my saved PDFs within Firefox! I went to investigate within Windows Control Panel and I find that when I try to set the default app for opening PDF files, Firefox is not even in the list of possible apps. Thinking I can get around this, I decided to see if I can go into "set defaults by app" and again I am met with disappointment as I see that PDF doesn't show in there. What is a fix for this?

I use Firefox Quantum Version 60.0.2 64 Bit on a Windows Server 2008 R2 complete patched with the Role Remoteserver.

If I use Firefox to open a website on the Internet or a website on the LAN, nothing happens. IE loads both pages on the same machine.

I can see with process monitor from sysinternals that the firefox.exe does not even try to generate traffic to the destination IP.

I have uninstalled the Firefox, deleted all related folders and registry entries. I cleaned about:support Firefox. I have disabled all security features on the machine like GPO, antivirus, firewall, proxy. Nothing happens! The firefox does not even try to open a website.

Is there a logfile somewhere? What can I do to make the firefox work?

CryptoTab extension is blocked and I don't know by what. I tried disabling all other extensions with no result. Even uninstalled 360 Antivirus. Same result. The most annoying is always switching to the tab which can be seen in screenshot. CryptoTab FAQ says this about "What can I do if mining is blocked?": "Your security system (antivirus, adblocker and etc. ) probably blocked mining script money.js. You need to add CryptoTab or money.js to whitelist in your security system. Find «exceptions» or «whitelist» item in the menu of your security system and add money.js and Cryptotab.net to it. I am accustomed to using an app to restore previous sessions. But now that app is in progress reconstructing. So I thought there was a system restore button somewhere, but cannot now find it.

Various instructions in Mozilla Support refer to clicking on the FireFox button (three lines) it will be the fourth item down. No joy.

Did they get rid of it?

Whenever I go to my home page (which is blank) I get a popup strip at the bottom from Mozilla, either tips of advertising. I HATE this, I hate any distractions of this sort. How can I stop it? I couldn't find anything in settings. I don't want to block all popups as I need them from banks etc.

After uptating firefox to 60.0.2 extensions (this is only one example https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/sozluk ) not working on local pdf files. Before that update there was not any problem.

in the old days there was exacly the same problem but it has fixed. and today we have the same problem again.

I tried uninstall firefox and reinstall with sync and non-snyc but the problem continues. macos 10.13.4, firefox 60.0.2

Hi, since version 60.0.2 my Firefox stop load YouTube properly, I can use it on Chrome or Safari, the block just happen on FireFox. I try to disable the plugins and also to start in safe mode, but nothings works.

The problem appears to be the https://s.ytimg.com/yts/jsbin/* JS resources that YouTube web page are calling, if I try to access any of them FireFox tell me that the site is insecure, but Chrome and Safari don't have any trouble.

Any ideas? It's very tedious to have to change to another browser just to see YouTube.

Things suddenly changed in the right click menu (see image - the 'search' option has been removed, 'open in new tab' doesn't work, video options have been added), and the address bar doesn't work either when I put in a URL or search term. I tried opening in safe mode but that doesn't help.

I have repeatedly asked this question from Firefox version 53 through Firefox version 60, and have not received help from this forum. Why will FNC embedded video player not work on FF. Error 2 is always displayed.

Every time I try to open a new tab, it's just a blank page with nothing in the URL bar. I want it to display about:home. I'm not sure where to start looking to see what's causing this weird override, especially since I can't find any setting for what New Tabs open in the main Options page, but I do know that whatever the setting is, it got carried over when I synced my Firefox account.

What should I try troubleshooting first? Thanks.

I have tried turning off addons, tried safe mode, no change. Previously everything was fine till update.

Now, videos like on youtube run at a very low framerate, animated icons just crawl, countdowns that should be one per second are running at one per 5 seconds, everything that should be moving is very slow. Browsing to new pages is fine. Have tried some of the suggested changes to settings, nothing helps.

When I used to select a bookmark to retrieve from the 'Show all bookmarks' list and then return to this list after finishing with the bookmark it would automatically highlight the name of the bookmark on the list that I just finished with. Now when I do the same thing the name of the top bookmark on the 'Show all bookmarks' list is highlighted instead. I don't know why this procedure changed but it makes it a lot more inconvenient when working with numerous sequential bookmarks.

I miss Firefox's ability to save a bookmark to a previously used folder. I realize that this was never supported by the base version of Firefox, however, it was possible to accomplish through add-ons. For example, if I save a bookmark to the folder "Music", then the next time I bookmark a page it should choose "Music" as the default choice; both when using the Star icon to bookmark a page, or when using the Crtl+D shortcut.

Roughly 2-3 years ago this was able to be done using add-ons. However, since those add-ons have become legacy extensions no developer has come forward with an add-on that accomplishes this feature.

If this was enabled it would save both myself and others a lot of time. At the moment, if I wanted to bookmark a bunch of tabs that are all related while doing research, I would need to click the star icon, move my mouse down and then select the recently used folder. That is a lot more steps then simply clicking the star icon and being done.

Bookmarking a page with this method takes about 3 seconds for each tab if I am bookmarking a bunch of tabs in a row. On the other hand, if the browser remembered my previously bookmarked folder then it would only take about 1 second per tab (This was tested using Chrome as the test browser since it has this feature enabled by default).

By allowing the browser to remember what folder I bookmarked to last, it would save me a good amount of time since I could move my mouse less per tab while bookmarking pages.

Being able to accomplish the same task in roughly a third of the time is pretty important and is substantial enough of a difference that I would consider using a different browser in order to increase my productivity.

The default size of my Firefox windows is too wide and too short. I can resize them individually by dragging their boundaries, but when I restart Firefox they return to that same annoying too wide and too short default size.

Used to be when I restarted Firefox, the browser windows would remain at their previous sizes, right where I had previously set them. It's aggravating to have to repeatedly resize my Firefox windows. My personal choice usually mimics the size of a "Portrait" page in my word processor, Often I want to see two windows side by side.
