Why can a stupid failing script on a web-page, or even intentionally so programmed script disable the copy (and sometimes paste) functionality?

How can this be disabled/fixed?

One highlights a text (any text) on some web sites, Edit menu allows Copy, context menu allows Copy, one hits Copy, nothing happens. It's not even a page where someone wanted to "copy protect" some information.

Copy and Paste should work just as advertised since those were invented, how hard can it be to get that right? Even stupid Notepad never fails at it. And no, I don't care what the idiot who programmed a page though would be/should be best for me, I want Copy to be copy, Paste to be paste. This used to work in "original" Firefoxes even when page developers wanted to make it not work.

And yes, while on a given page Copy fails miserably, at the same time in other pages it works.

With Firefox 91, I can no longer disable the hideous Proton changes to tabs. Separating tabs from their content is a really poor user interface decision. It makes it harder to tell which tab is the current tab. With Proton, the active tab is slightly brighter than the inactive tabs. For older folks and color blind folks, this makes it all but impossible to to tell which tab is active.

If you won't come to your senses and revert this bad user interface decision, then at least add an official option to disable it and go back to the old tab style that other browsers use. If you won't do that, then I will just have to use a different browser. Which makes me very sad, because aside from your bad sense in user interface design, I loved Firefox.

Dark Mode used to work beautifully in Firefox. Today it stopped working. I can choose Dark Mode in the settings page, and the settings page itself then uses Dark Mode. But Dark Mode does not work in any of the other pages, only the settings page. I think it must be a flaw in an update that was installed automatically today. (September 7, 2021)

Is there a way to uninstall this update and go back to the previous version. Dark Mode used to work beautifully and Firefox was my favorite browser. Can someone help? Thanks.

Chrome has a really fantastic feature called "Tab Groups" - it's pretty self explanatory but it basically allows you to quickly group related sets of tabs.

This is an incredibly useful feature but it seems Firefox hasn't got anything like it.

I've tried a few of the third party add-ons such as Tree-Style-Tabs but they're all over-complicated, take up too much screen real estate or change the way tabs operate.

Is adding simple Tab Grouping functionality on the Firefox roadmap?

If not - has anyone found any good add-ons to replicate the Chrome functionality?

How can I permanently force firefox's automatic updates to be turned off? Which guy modified the original design for the new version of Firefox bookmarks? Is there something wrong with that man's brain? Is the spacing of the new bookmark item too large to read? It's very uncomfortable.

FFox 92 update today. Menu spacing went to double. No shock there. Found the CSS code below for UserChrome.css and set it up.

EX. menupopup > menuitem, menupopup > menu {

 padding-block: 4px !important;

}

root {
 --arrowpanel -menuitem -padding: 4px 8px !important;

}

Here's the issue: I want it tighter than 4px. So, I set it down to 2px... eventually dropping it to all 0px settings.

EX: menupopup > menuitem, menupopup > menu {

 padding-block: 0px !important;

}

root {
 --arrowpanel -menuitem -padding: 0px 0px !important;

}

But, it doesn't get any smaller than the above 4/8px set up. Bug? Perhaps there's another CSS setting to be tweaked for V 92? I do not have any other CSS for these items elsewhere in my UserChrome file.

I bought a new phone from AT&T and I wanted to use Firefox and get away from chrome and when they used smart transfer to transfer all my data from the old phone to the new phone no open tabs or passwords came with it and now I can't figure out how to import them. I've searched on Google and tried to follow the steps but I don't have the options that they say to use. I have tried installing Firefox on my old phone and importing them from chrome to Firefox on my old phone and then to the new phone and that doesn't work. I managed to export the passwords from Chrome on my old phone to Chrome on my new phone but I can't get the open tabs to and I can't transfer my passwords from chrome on my new phone to Firefox on my new phone. Please, can anybody help me?

It appears that Firefox 87.0b3 version has removed the Library - Pocket List menu item. Yet, through the about:config options, has retained the ability to activate the 'Save to Pocket' address bar icon.

This makes no sense as there is now no option to have a 'Pocket List' item selection. At least I couldn't find an option for this. That is without adding another extension.

Having the 'Save' option without the 'List' option is counter intuitive.

The Library-->Pocket List Menu item should be restored.

Thanks.

I dislike how bad the customer service is. Firefox doesn't listen to anyone and works hard to make sure they cannot listen to anyone. Notice how this link doesn't work: https://qsurvey.mozilla.com/s3/Give-feedback-landing-page

However, the main reason I no longer use this is the back and forward buttons don't work on 3rd part mice. It;s really annoying, and I don't want to get carpal tunnel over manually reaching for buttons that don't actually require that.

In short, I'm not a masochist. I want products that are not frustrating; who doesn't? The "community" (i.e. outsourced customer service to unpaid lemmings who give their one and only lives to this for some reason) doesn't result in changes or answers.

Because Mozilla refused to receive feedback elsewhere, I need to post this here to give them some kind of a clue that they're moving in the wrong direction. 3rd party hardware is everywhere. Accommodate it or fall behind into uselessness.

Hi, I found firefox beta the one and only bnowser on Android where I can change the viewport width and thus look at very wide webpages (e.g. scientific) that are designed for laptops. But how can I make a screenshot of such a webpage? That is, not only capture what is actually on the screen in the moment, but the entire webpage. But I really must do this in Firefox Beta, because if I cannot set the viewport width to somet0ing extrawide, then the website will open in a distorted way. I spent a lot of time going through not only the firefox beta menu, but also the settings and the config about page of firefox beta and I am lost. Googling for an hour, I saw that "firifox light" on Android does have a screenshot icon that provides exacly this functionality. Any ideas why this is not there in firefox beta for Android? Or any ideas for a workaround?

Thanks!!

Firefox recently changed the Show all Bookmarks shortcut from Ctrl + Shift + B to Ctrl + Shift + O.

Ctrl + Shift + B shortcut moved from Show all Bookmarks to Show/hide the Bookmarks toolbar.

For what reason and how stupid do you have to be to change something that had remained unchanged for years?

Or am I the stupid who cannot understand what the inevitable reason is to complicate people's lives?

Thanks.

What is the specific URL that is required to access auto-updates from the client? As an enterprise, we have locked down devices that have limited Internet connectivity. Our security area will not open the entire download area, so we are looking for the specific URL or web address that is needed so we can still auto-update clients. We want to move more people to Firefox, but need to get this working first.

As written, with Ff 89 beta for Android, the setting "dom.ipc.processCount" resets itself to 1 every restart.

https://github.com/mozilla-mobile/fenix/issues/19385

Can someone please explain me why? It felt much faster before with a setting of 4 or 6 and still feels faster when I set it in about:config for the time not doing a restart...what is going on here?

And why is such a change not being communicated to the community somehow and I/we have to find this out by ourself?

Greets and with best regards, Michael
