Hi there! I recently added 2FA on my Google account using security keys and I had to re-add my Gmail account on Thunderbird after invalidating all existing sessions. Adding my Gmail account works well up to a certain point; I can authenticate in the Google pop-up window and use the security key fine, but then when I click the "allow" button of the permissions step, it seems to accept the mouse-click as buttons turn grey, then it doesn't go any further. I've tried this several times over the past few months and the issue still persists. I am using version 91.7.0 (64-bit) on macOS 12.3.

Hi there,

I've searched and tried all the solutions I could find, but my FF browser still shows my timezone as Central, which is two hours ahead of my timezone, Pacific. MS Edge displays correctly, it's just FF that has the issue. There are a couple of add-ins that say they can update the timezone in FF, but not sure if I should use them (not trusted).

I verified that privacy.resistFingerprinting is set on false. Also, my control panel timezone is correct and set as Pacific, but just to see if it would correct it, I changed it and did a restart, changed it again and did a restart, and FF is still displaying Central time.

Thanks in advance for your help...

(continued from https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1318142 )

When I finally installed the most recent Thunderbird update, to 78.7.0, it crashed and I lost everything, including specialized mail folders and settings.

Is it possible to go back to a date just before that crash, to retrieve and reinstall those folders and settings/prefs via Time Machine on my Mac desktop? It's certainly not the easiest way to do this, but I don't know how else to get all of that back.

Thank you!

Hi all,

Despite all my searching, I have not been able to find a solution to this issue that works for me. When I start watching a youtube video, it plays fine, zero interruptions. However the moment I touch the seek bar, pause the video for a moment, anything that interrupts the playback, I cannot watch more than 2 seconds of video before it will pause as if buffering for a few seconds, play again for a few seconds, pause again etc etc. over and over and over, making it impossible to watch any video at that point. Refreshing the page will fix it, but if I have to use the seek bar to get back to where I was, then the exact same issue will re-occur.

There is zero issue with playback on other browsers, such as chrome or edge.

I have tried enabling/disabling hardware acceleration, various codecs, user agents, refreshed firefox, started it in troubleshooting mode etc, nothing has helped.

I've been happily using Thunderbird for email for many years. Recently, the gmail OAuth2 requirement has made my POP3 accounts quit working. Currently on 38.5 for Windows 10.

Following various posts, I've tried to convert two specific email accounts to imap, and things are not going well.

My primary email is already imap and works fine. I've tried multiple times to convert the other two, and my current state is I've deleted those two accounts entirely (via Account Actions). When I try to install Existing Account, I eventually get to the point where the server config seems correct, but hitting "Done" results in the above message. I'd be surprised if imap.gmail.com can only support one email address. The emails are named differently, and use different passwords. Imap is enabled via browser based access to both accounts.

Incoming server imap.gmail.com:993 Outgoing smtp.gmail.com:465

Hello.

When I visit Marketwatch* on Firefox in full screen mode on Windows machine, there is a huge gap of blank space on the page and I have to scroll dwn a long way to read the rest of the page. It's like the columnar data is being stacked on the page and not dsplayed side-by-side, as it should be. This doesn't happen in Brave, Chrome, Iron, or MS browsers. On those browsers, the information is placed correctly side-by-side, and not stacked above or below each other on the page. (i say "columnar" to describe issue appearance, not as a known refernce to the cause of the issue.)

PROBLEM FIREFOX:

                            column 2 data
                            column 2 data
                            column 2 data

column 1 data column 1 data column 1 data column 1 data

CORRECT BROWSER DISPLAY: column 1 data column 2 data column 1 data column 2 data column 1 data column 2 data column 1 data

The work-around is minimizing Firefox just slightly smaller than full screen, and all of the page items appear where they should on the page. I'm using other browsers because of this. thx, rick

  • BTW, I don't benefit in any way from mentioning this website with this issue; it's sincerely a probelm with this website that I use frequently.

I had issues with Firefox and reinstalled it. My monitor was cracked so bought a new monitor. Now web pages don't load properly. If on a message board or looking at emails, lines separating each post or email are missing. This happens throughout the web. separating lines, boxes are missing. It's like 90% of the page loads and then some parts don't. I've tried all the troubleshooting answers from Mozilla. Nothing works. Never had this issue for years of using Firefox. All of a sudden, web pages all look different. It can't be the monitor because the computer tells the monitor what to display. So something must have changed when I reinstalled Firefox. I've added a picture below of how the Ticketmaster page loads. It would always show each individual seat. Now most of the empty seats have disappeared along with the line separating each row. Makes it almost impossible to decipher the webpage. The blue dots are seats still for sale. The empty rows should also have dots representing each and every seat, but now only about 50% of the seats actually display. Anyone have any ideas on what is going wrong? Driving me absolutely crazy. Ruined my ability to surf the web. Every page is missing something. Usually separating lines. Any ideas?

Hi,

I am signed into a Firefox account. I have used this account on at least three different computers. I have downloaded the application anew at least a dozen times.

Firefox randomly, from where I sit, opens things in French rather than English. How can I keep it in English unless otherwise specified (I occasionally want German or Japanese)?

Thank you.

I tried to connect to a site I previously bookmarked and have connected to many times. When I tried yesterday it couldn't connect. A message on my screen said that it might be because Firefox was blocking cookies. I checked and it isn't. When I type the address manually into the address bar it connects without a problem. I deleted the old bookmark and set up a new one after I connected. When I navigate away from the page, I still can't connect with the new bookmark.

I have, very reluctantly, had to stop using Windows Live Mail, because gmail will no longer support it. It was a great email program and it did everything I needed. Thunderbird would seem to be the nearest thing I can find to replace Live Mail - but there seems to be some quite staggering basic functions that are missing from it. Maybe I'm alone in wanting to include a picture or two in my emails..? - not as attachments, but as part of 'the visual letter', within the text? Live Mail must be 20 years old at least - but in Live Mail I could insert an image; drag the corners to resize it; add a box rule if I wanted to; and send it on it's way. In 21stC Thunderbird I can, with many a dialogue box, insert an image... but even when I've worked out how to 'resize it', it doesn't actually reduce the file size of the image sent..! So a 7MB image, when 'resized' to something less than 1MB... still actually gets transmitted as a 7MB image - and takes forever! So my question is. How come an ancient, now almost defunct program like Live Mail, is twenty times more agile and user-friendly than 'up-to-date' Thunderbird? And before anyone mentions 'add-ons' - Live Mail did all of this straight out of the box! No 'add-on' searching or anything else required. But maybe including a picture or two in an email is a fairly revolutionary concept? With thanks for your thoughts.
