When I try to create a New Bookmark I find that the folder has already been allocated. It is usually the last used folder number. Also, I am unable to cancel edit, or remove or perform any other changes. Going to Firefox safe mode or other recommendations makes no difference.

The problem happened for the first time last week and it was, strangely, only by doing a complete System Restore that I was able to get things back to normal. That seems like a severe remedy every time it happens. I would really appreciate help with this.

Hi There,

If i have been through 100s of pages in 1 tab and I want to go back, say, 80 pages, I have to right click the back button and select the page at the bottom (the 14th page) and this will take me back 14 pages, then again, right click, on the back button and select the bottom page and again it takes me back another 14 pages, and again..... etc etc until I get to the page I want. My question is; How can I get a longer list of pages when I right click the back button, may be list of 30 pages, so when I click the bottom page this would take me back 30 pages? The Safeway website has always supported Firefox until recently. Now we are told it is incompatible with Firefox and you must use the Chrome browser. Complained to Safeway and they just said they will forward it to their website manager.

Firefox works with all other websites I use.

The bug shows in both FF (GP version 84.1.4), FF Focus (GP version 8.11.3) My devices are Samsung Galaxy S20 and Xiaomi Mi A1, they both show the same behavior.

I have been trying to solve my problem earlier, through “sfhowes” but had to interrupt for the holidays. As I understand I now have to start a new question. My email program is “runbox.com” that I have used for several years getting my email through Thunderbird and I never had any problems. Then I end up in the hospital just as Runbox subscription ran out. I now have Runbox again and have no problems but I can’t get my mail through Thunderbird. The settings are the same. Both incoming and outgoing mail is: mail.runbox.com. What can I do now?

not every caldav server accepts all user agents. in my case it's not possible to change it on providerside.

workaround: global.useragent.override = Lightning

new problem: every component of thunderbird sends "User-Agent: Lightning", so e.g. no Add-ons can be downloaded.

needed solution: an individual configuration to override the User-Agent of the calendar, e.g. "calendar.useragent.override"

I have two simple identical filters, for Zoom and Quora. Quora works, Zoom doesn't. They are identical and shunt emails to the same folder, see screenshots.

The Zoom one sometimes works, but more often it sends emails to one particular wrong folder. (If I run it manually it always works, suggesting the problem is not eg invisible characters in the text strings.)

A big question is, how does the Zoom filter decide which wrong folder, mostly the same one, to use? This suggests some kind of file corruption. I've deleted the MSF files globally, but no change. I then deleted and re-created the global database, but again, no change. I didn't run "repair" on every single folder, because I have a lot of folders.

Is there something else that could be corrupt? Am I missing something obvious in the screenshots? What doesn't the thing work???

About 75% of the times I try to send an email I get the following: "Sending of the message failed. The message could not be sent because the connection to Outgoing server (SMTP) smtp.XXX.XXX was lost in the middle of the transaction. Try again." Failure is more common with attachments, and gets worse with increasing attachment size. For one message with a 600K attachment, I had to try 44 times before the message went. The problem occurs on a desktop and two laptops that use Thunderbird. Opening Thunderbird in Safe Mode did not help. My ISP cannot find a problem and believes the problem is caused by Thunderbird. I think the problem started in October 2020.

Within the last few weeks, Microsoft changed how they handled oauth2 in thunderbird popups. I have an account at cornell.edu, managed by Microsoft and that has used thunderbird for a very long time. I've updated firefox and thunderbird to the latest on Windows and this problem remains:

Passwords and account IDs proven correct via access through web browser interfaces. Oauth2 / IMAP / StartTLS Click "Get messages". Pop up appears asking for 'netid' (email address) which is pre-populated and correct, and a blank square for password. Enter the password. Click 'sign in'. The password immediately erases to a blank. No other confirmation or notice or detail appears. Entering the password and 'signing in' many times does not change anything. The popup never disappears, it just stays there asking for the password, then erasing it.

The 'help desk' people at the universities have no idea about thunderbird, they offer to change the password which they do, then the web interface validates the use with the new password, but the thunderbird experience is the same. Tried the 'useragent compat' true setting suggested on the web -- no change. Tried 'safe mode' no change. Tried deleting all the stored passwords, no change. Help?

I want FF to open multiple sites when I first load the program. But, I don't want them all to be included as a home page selection. I can do this in Chrome and Edge, but I don't see how in FF. Currently, every time I hit the home icon in FF, all tabs are reloaded to the same tabs that are already open.

Hello. Having spent many hours ( and about a hundred quid ! ) trying to sort out problems with my Thunderbird E-mail settings a couple of months ago, I am still getting problems when attempting to send E-mails. Recently I get a message which says Error Code TT602 Please Check Your E-mail Settings. But I have checked them all and re-set them to the correct settings as recommended by Talk Talk. OUTGOING SERVER according to Talk Talk should be smtp.tiscali.co.uk with outgoing port number 587. However, although connection security is supposed to be SSL/TLS ( according to Talk Talk settings page ! ) this will not synchronise with the outgoing port number 587. Instead, uf I enter outgoing port 587 as recommended, the " connection security " setting automatically defaults to STARTTLS. I have the " authentication method " set to " normal password " since it does not work with anything else.

Can someone help me out please ?

hey i have firefox 8.5 - and a problem since v8.4 and present. Web pages load very slowly - the whole browser is very slow, the load on the frame RAM and CPU is reaching its zenith with the windows open. In one word the browser has become useless. Anticipating responses - 1. In safe mode - browser speeds up slightly, but websites still have lags and take a long time to load. 2. I reinstalled firefox - the errors continued. 3. I turned on firefox without logging in and with add-ons disabled - the browser worked with the errors described above. 4. I turned on firefox and logged into the profile, but turned off the add-ons - firefox - still has errors; I turned on a generation of additions (recommended) - firefox still has bugs. 5. My antivirus is not blacklisted by firefox - and I have no worms etc. 6. Standard or changed settings - firefox doesn't work well. Any suggestions or advice? Websites like FB, YT and others are simply unloadable with such lags. thanks.

I need to do the simplest thing. I see a web page I want to get back to later. I bookmark it. Later today or tomorrow or whatever I try to find it. And that is borderline impossible. It's not something I categorize or file away in well defined folders for future reference. I just want to read it later. It it's go e, lost in no particular order in a cast list of bookmarks. All I want is to find these fairly recent bookmarks, read, and delete. Is that simplest of actions not possible?

I've been trying to access some resources hosted locally with a web extension for testing, but I've been encountering CORS errors. I've added localhost to the permissions field of the extension's manifest.json, but I still encounter the CORS errors. I saw that bugs 1220810 and 1488740 addressed similar bugs in FF84, but Firefox still won't let me send the requests. If it helps at all, I've been trying to access the resources hosted on localhost from an https context, but I was under the impression that those bugs should have fixed that issue?

Ideally I wouldn't need to implement having the server respond with the CORS headers since it only seems to be a problem with Firefox in a local context. Accessing the local resources through Chrome works, and accessing the resources through the internet with the domain name in the permissions field of a production build of the extension's manifest.json works in Firefox. Is there a way to make Firefox disregard CORS enforcement for localhost for temporary extensions?

Is there option for thunderbird to manage more emails from one place? Example: We have 5 email accounts. Can administrator manage, store, track and save copy (inbox, outbox, draft, folders.......) for all accounts from one place, and still each account to work independent, to log in/out and work from remote computers and mobile phones. Whole conversation to be stored one one place or server and to have complette history on one place?
