So, I accidentally clicked a link that takes me to a site I have never logged into. Firefox prompts me with 3 userids. One is more or less a throwaway, but two are for sites I want to be secure.

I have disabled the form history in options. I have selected each item and tried either delete or shift-delete. None of these options work.

The site continues to present me with 3 userid options.

I hope this is not a major security threat since I am the only user on this computer and the site is one I have never visited, but it worries me nonetheless that I cannot remove the Firefox suggestions.

This is a solution for a problem that has recently arisen. After upgrading to TB 78.6.0, I began to get errors like in the subject line above whereby inbound service worked fine but outbound crashed. After much fiddling about with Win10 security settings (virus, firewall, etc), I noted that wife's separate acct had similar issues (thus, not machine specific) and that outbound service still worked from Comcast's online app (thus, not truly an acct issue).

I finally stumbled on the solution: in TB Outgoing Server settings, I had, for some arcane reason, two smtp.Comcast.net servers listed. The Default one had my actual username listed for username, while the other had my "extended" full username@comcast.net. Apparently, TB was trying to authenticate with the second, full address. When I edited the username and dropped the "@comcast.net," TB works.

Since the same fix worked on my wife's separate acct with the same issue, I presume the latest TB update (78.6.0) must have tightened some security authentication or some similar scenario was implemented at Comcast.

Hi all, I wanted to protect my Thunderbird software with a password so I did the routine of setting it up.

One day I went to enter T-Bird and then decided not to so I hit "escape" to abandon the password entry, figuring the program would just shut down. It didn't shut down. It opened.

It seems that if you hit the "x" or "escape", the program bypasses the password and opens without entering a password.

What have I done wrong ??

cheers, thank you :) john@oldradio.ca

Hello,

This problem just started with the last update or two from firefox, and the other browsers CHROME or EDGE loads the site just fine. To view how the twitter feed should look, just load in those browsers and you will see it styled.

MY SITE https://www61.myfantasyleague.com/2020/home/15387#0

You notice the lower left twitter feed, it is not being styled by css through js. I get a console error that reads. DOMException: Permission denied to access property "frameElement" on cross-origin object

I am not sure how to fix this with a setting turned off or on maybe, or if firefox can fix in the browser, as i really dont want to use Chrome.

Thank you Dean

Hi, I received an email this morning supposedly from mozilla support which stated there was a reply to a question I posted here about 5 years ago. Not the kind of person to click links in emails I signed in directly to my Firefox account and searched for replies to my original question and did not see a reply from the poster who was mentioned the email. How can I determine if this email is actually from mozilla and if it is not what should I do with it? I did check my email using the Firefox Monitor and nothing showed up. Thank you.

We need a fix to turn off forever the splash notification after taken a screenshot. I have been using the temporary solution of turning on "Pause notifications until Firefox restarts" but we need a definite solution on how to turn that notification off forever.

Hi there, When I navigate to Settings in Firefox -> (don't know the exact term in English) Privacy and Security -> Cookies and website data I see this "The saved cookies, website data and the cache currently occupy xx MB" and three buttons Remove Data, Manage Data, and Manage Exceptions. When I click the first button to remove the data, the data is erased but it always leaves an 85Kb amount. Why? I can remember times when all of this data was removed. Kind regards.

Hello

I thought it was a phone or keyboard issue in my phone and it might be.

But I have noticed that in Firefox for Android it auto-capitalises password fields. This is not a good feature. I continually enter passwords wrong as a result. It may happen in other apps but I've noticed it is not the case in all of them. And I have new devices that have the same problem. Has anyone an idea of how to turn it off please?

Good afternoon people. I consult them. I have used the uBlock Origin extension for years for the ad blocking issue. I also understand that it blocks trackers. My question is, using this extension, what function does the "Tracking Protection" provided by the browser? Can both work together? Or is it not recommended?

Best regards.

My institution will require Duo 2-step authentication to access to its O365 Exchange email system. They want to force everyone to use desktop client Outlook, but I have used Thunderbird (with Exquilla add-on) flawlessly for years. My institution does not allow use of App Passwords. I have seen conflicting entries about how to enable TB to work well with an O365 system using Duo 2FA. I don't even know if there is a problem with TB accessing the exchange email site outlook.office365.com/EWS/Exchange.asmx if I have an active 2-step authenticated session open in a browser. I have seen conflicting statements about TB 68 vs TB 78 regarding 2FA, and the use of OAuth2 authentication, which is an option even on TB 60. Obviously I can try out various things, but the risk is losing all email access in the process without being able to easily recover (once 2FA is activated, I cannot turn it off).

In view of how many places now require 2FA and how many people use TB, I would like some clarity on how to make them work together. I hope that someone with actual knowledge/experience with this can help (I cannot imagine I am the first to want to make this work). If this belongs in a different board, let me know. Thanks.

In Firefox 84.0.2 I tried to access an old YouTube account from a gmail email. it signed me out and I have to change the password to get back in to gmail. It gave me message about "a suspicious app, etc." but I KNOW I don't have any suspicious anything on my new Macbook Pro. I finally realized that on Chrome I can stay signed in, but in Firefox, every time I try to sign in with the changed password, it goes through the whole thing again. I want to use Firefox, but right now I want to be able to access my email! I also don't want to have to stay signed in. Also, I was on a new device, AND in another country -- Apple could not help me (just said to change password), and I didn't have Chrome on my new Mac at that point, though probably should have tried it before all the changing....

Anyway, I looked up everything I could. The checkbox that the directions at one point said to uncheck isn't in my screen in Firefox 84.0.2. Thanks.
