when i execute a google search and click through to an Ad result, i get the following error message.

Secure Connection Failed

An error occurred during a connection to www.googleadservices.com. PR_CONNECT_RESET_ERROR

The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified.
Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem.

when i click "learn more" i am directed to this firefox support page, which is not helpful / does not resolve the issue. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/secure-connection-failed-firefox-did-not-connect?as=u&utm_source=inproduct

QUESTION: how do i setup Firefox to allow click through of Google Ads?

P.S. i do not have any ad blocker extensions enabled. this is only an issue in Firefox. i have no issue with click through on Chrome or Safari.

My local library website has been flagged as a "secure connection failed". I found the information you provide that this error message has no exception to by pass. According to addition information that has been dug into states that prior to today I have visited the website 284 times. Of those 284 times or more I have not had any problem. Although I appreciate your helping me stay secure, I DO NOT appreciate you not allowing me to make the choice to allow you to maintain my security against my wishes. What should I do to access a library that I have been accessing for 20+ years?

My organization uses Google Workspaces/GSuite, and my supervisor needs about forty mailboxes on his laptop (macOS Monterey). These are accessed through POP, with OAuth2 authentication.

Previously, when one of these OAuth tokens expired or otherwise became invalid, attempting to check mail on that account would pop up the Google authentication page. Now, it just produces an error message ("The STAT command did not succeed .. Invalid credentials"). In order to re-authenticate to the account, I have to manually go into saved passwords and delete the invalid OAuth token. At that point, attempting to check the mailbox will pop up the authentication page.

Is there a way to make it so that, if Google's server replies with "Invalid credentials", Thunderbird will pop up the authentication page automatically, rather than requiring me to manually delete the invalid token? I searched Config Editor, but didn't see anything obvious.

Thank you for your time.

Certain sites (the latest being https://azgaar.github.io/Fantasy-Map-Generator/, which i've downloaded successfully from before) cannot be downloaded from - firefox gives the error of "[site] attempted to automatically download multiple files. The site could be broken or trying to store spam files on your device."

I know these downloads aren't spam or malicious, but when I hit the "Allow" button to give permission, there's no change. The downloads remain blocked and new downloads are blocked.

I've turned off my antivirus shields to see if that was causing it, but to no results.

I sincerely thank you for your time and know that you're quite busy, and look forward to hearing back about this issue.

During an online transaction I get into a loop where Firefox reports "Firefox prevented this page from reloading automatically". I respond with Allow but the situation repeats. I have changed the settings to standard for this particular website, but the problem persists and appears to be the reason that the transaction eventually fails. What other settings or adjustments do I need to make to allow Firefox to automatically reload a page on a trusted site?

Firefox supports Websockets, which allows servers to push arbitrary data to the client, instead of having to rely on polling methods via HTTP and JS. Whilst solving one problem, it creates another. I do not like the idea that any website can just ask Firefox to make a persistent WS connection without my consent. The same is true for service workers, but (unlike websockets) i'm not at all interested in using those. Luckily there's a configuration option to disable support for websockets, network.websocket.enabled, wich is exactly what i've done.

Is there a way to selectively allow websockets, based on IP or domain? If not, why isn't there one? Am i really the lone outsider who's concerned about security?

Yes, I have checked "show only display name for people in my address book" -- and all these people are in my address book. Note that when I open the address book the first column is labeled Name, not Display Name.

I'm using 91.9.0 on Win 10 Pro. Thanks.
