Is there any way to stop Firefox automatically installing updates on Linux? It's incredibly disruptive when I'm in the middle of work, open a new tab and Firefox says it needs to be restarted to install updates. When in this state, opening new tabs yields the same result. I'm using 87.0 built for Ubuntu, installed out of the package repo.

Dear Community,
I would like to download this extension: https://addons.mozilla.org/pl/firefox/addon/adblock-plus/ I would like to know how it works. If I will install this extension my firefox will be check hashsum for the files of this extension automatically? Or maybe public key of the organization/company who created Adblock Plus extension? How it is work? Can you tell me? I hope that people from Mozilla now read this and can answer for my question. This is very important for me.
Next question is to Adblock Plus extension. I can read this information: "This add-on is not actively monitored for security by Mozilla. Make sure you trust it before installing" so my question is why Mozilla don't recommended this extension? This extension now use 6,678,297 people so this is huge count. It is possible that this extension is not safe and these people now use malicious software? Why on dedicated website for this extension I can't see company name? Why this company is not verified by Mozilla? So my sugestion for people from Mozilla is to change this and check this extension or maybe add some information on website for this extension.
So I should install this extension? My friend use this on Google Chrome and he recommended me this software but I don't know if this is exatcly the same version. Maybe Chrome has verified Adblock Plus software and this is safe but Mozilla didn't verified this and this can be dangerous software because this can be not exactly the same version?
Next question is to adblocker. Why Mozilla can't make their own software to block all annoying ads and due to fight with malware? Example Opera browser have own buil-in adblocker. Why firefox can't do this? Maybe people from Mozilla should do this? This can be helpful because if this can be happen I will be not install any 3rd party software for firefox anymore and I will be safe. Maybe I can send somehow this suggestion to people from Firefox?
I hope that you can help me.
Yours faithfully, Peter

Dear Mozilla Community,
I would like to suggest you to make built in adblocker in Firefox. For example Opera have this feature so we don't need install any extension. People from Mozilla read subjects in support.mozilla.org? If not where I can send my suggestion?
P.S. I wanted to install Adblock Plus extension but I am afraid about safety so better option is to make built in adblocker to protect from malware. I think that this can be direction in good way.
Yours faithfully, Piotr

I thought perhaps the cat had hit some keyboard shortcut (goodness it would be nice to be able to disable those!) and removed "Bookmark This Page" from the Bookmarks pull-down menu, but based on the number of people asking the same question, I now suspect that the latest Firefox update somehow removed it. I have seen MANY people asking about this, invariably answered with how to work around it being missing by using a tiny blob of an icon (which tiny meaningless blob among many, my not-so-young eyes are not certain - apparently it looks like a star). WE WANT IT BACK. Please put "Bookmark This Page" back where it belongs - in the pulldown menu called "Bookmarks". Or tell us how to put it there ourselves. Leave it in the teeny blob menu also if you like - maybe there's someone out there who actually likes it there. But please, for the love of usability, put that entry back on the list of things you can do from the Bookmarks pull-down menu! Not all of your users are 20-somethings with perfect eyesight!

Hello,
When receiving a message, Thunderbird considers a line containing "--" to be a signature start mark and automatically removes all following lines (instead of quoting it) when editing the reply.
I want to disable this behavior. (The content of my (reply) message is my responsibility, I dislike automation on my authoring. ;-) )
So, how to configure this?
Regards.

I have yet to notice the same issue with any other website. Any Idea where I should report this minor, but annoying but ?
Thanks & Cheers, -- JAB

I have reported the problem to Plusnet but they say 'not our problem'. Their reason being that the problem does not occur using Google Chrome.
Can you help please?

I had a system update couple of days ago and since then, the firefox browser suddenly hangs or partially blacks out in certain areas suddenly. It sometimes corrupts the text/data on the toolbars, add-ons, etc.
It happens randomly. When I restart the system it works fine and then it happens again at random instance.
Not sure what is causing this. But this only began since Thursday.
Not sure what to do.

Hi! Glad someone is here to help!
Last week I was signed out of my Hotmail account. Which is now technically Outlook, but I still have a Hotmail email address. I did not sign out. Just came home to discover that I was signed out. I found the main Outlook sign up page, which also had "sign in" on it, which I clicked.
The next thing that showed up was a mostly blank page with the Microsoft squares, my email address, and password filled in in the upper left corner of the page. Underneath it said "next" which I clicked, and nothing happened. I tried to chat with Microsoft about it, and in the end I downloaded Chrome, which instantly let me into my account. I truly don't want to use Chrome. But so far my ability to access my account via Firefox has not been successful. I would be so happy if anyone could help me understand what is gong on, and how to fix it. Thank for reading this!!!!!! ps I have Linux as my operating system. I had someone who knows Linux well come to help me, but he couldn't figure it out either.

This is on Firefox 87 Manjaro 21 (Linux)
Default theme is used.
According to https://www.reddit.com/r/firefox/comments/8k3sq4/firefox_updated_to_6001_and_the_search_box_is_no/ there's something wrong with userchrome.css in the profile but that file should be patched if that's the case.
Why this hasn't been patched since it's introduction in version 60 is beyond me.

When I type in ANY URL, I want exactly that to be loaded. And not anything else.
When I type in mozilla.rog into the address bar, I want firefox to fetch the page mozilla.rog. I want firefox to try, and if it does not exist, I demand to be notified that it does not exist. With an error message. URL not found. Error 404.
But instead, Firefox silently changes mozilla.rog to mozilla.org (and probably any page e.g. from .rog to .org, and from .ocm to .com , and the like) without my permission, and loads this other page I did not type in.
I do NOT and NEVER allow ANY program to alter my commands without notifying me.
so... which about:config setting disables this autocorrection-behavior?
