I have been using Thunderbird for ages now with no problem, but I suddenly realised that no recent emails were appearing from my Gmail account. I have tried everything suggested on line to resolve the problem, including uninstalling and reinstalling Thunderbird, and deleting and re-entering my acccount details but neither the IMAP or SMTP servers will connect to Gmail. I have reset all of the server settings on Thunderbird, and have checked that Gmail is IMAP compliant (which, apparently, is is now automatically). I have spent hours trying to sort this out and am just at the point of abandoning Thunderbird completely, but I am loathe to do so if there is a solution. The latest error message i have received is "Unable to log in at server. Probably wrong configuration, username or password" but I don't know what else I can check or change.

The Notifications Bar seems to be missing from the top of an email message that is being shown below the list of messages. So there is no "Options" box where it is usually shown, on the Notifications Bar, so that I can manage Remote Content in the message being shown.

I can't find a contact person, and the Mozilla account name has been changed. Is that normal?

Question: There was a number after my email address, like "Email" and "1954." Who is that? Is that normal?

Questions: Thunderbird Portable The archive option isn't updating? How long does the backup take?

Different Thunderbird versions display a programmed year date in the archive option. For example, 2021 in one program and 2024 in another. Is that normal? I can't change anything.

It's as if it's accessing some kind of backup and maybe even sharing it, and I don't know what's correct.

Update Channel Ellipse Update Channel esr. Previously, there were different channels. Isn't another channel better? I've read that it's more stable than switching. Is that true? Information regarding the question below?

I deleted the VPN button after the latest update and would like to get it back. I found VPN in the Settings but the VPN button is disabled, and nothing happens. Need suggestions -- thanks.

Why private window is the same as general window browse? It should be different, yesterday was different, when I created a new account, this new private window change it to the public window, are they any bugs? Can you fix it? Thanks.

If I go to AOL.com they useually have 40 or so news articlaes/ads you scroll through. Several weeks ago the text for the articles stopped displaying. I have tried other browsers and the text shows up. Not sure what setting may effectr this.,

Somewhere between TB 15 and TB 115 (my current), we lost the TB information page which included a link to the profile. Is there some current replacement for that capability? (I'm having a profile problem and would like to see how that looks to TB.)

When I delete an email, a pop up gives me a chance to compact folders now, or remind me later. This is a minor annoyance and can probably use a fix. I do want to compact folders, but not while I'm in the middle of reading and deleting my email.

How about using whatever trigger is used to, instead of popping up the small window, do a delay and open the popup when it's more convenient and useful, like when I delete my trash or go to close the program?

Here's what I see: This is a very specific server. We tried connecting to your servers from various IP addresses, but all connection attempts were rejected with error messages similar to the one you sent me. I get the impression that you need to contact them to ask them to accept connections from the IP addresses to which emails are to be sent. I suggest contacting your point of contact at this domain through other means, whether by phone, WhatsApp, or another email address they receive—perhaps one from Germany—and asking your provider to adjust the settings so that emails sent from the IP address 148.251.119.178 are accepted. You can point out that our server is legitimate, does not send spam, is not on any blacklists, and uses all protocols for validating email delivery, including SPF, DKIM, and DMARC.

This email address cannot send me emails because they keep getting bounced back to the sender. All other email addresses work, just this one doesn't.

AirTable.com online app attached documents are downloading when selected to view. Not a problem in 148. Not happening on other browsers.

I used to be able to right click on the search drop down menu and open YouTube without typing anything. Now it requires a search. A minor inconvenience I know, but all the same.
