New Thunderbird 115.4.3 (32 bit) bold font is too thick! Can we reduce the font thickness I find it hard to read. I think it extends the width of the text beyond normal viewing range.

I have been using Thunderbird for a few years now to manage my charter domain email account. On October 9th, 2023 Thunderbird stopped updating with new emails and the application started throwing an error stating "Cannot connect to SMTP server".

I have spent countless hours on the phone with Charter who have been very helpful in tracing emails for my account (both outbound and inbound) using their web email application. However, when testing with Thunderbird - everything goes wrong again.

My current server configuration is as follows: Server Type: IMAP Mail Server Server Name: mobile.charter.net Port: 993 User Name: full_email_address@charter.net

Outgoing Server (SMTP) Configuration: Server Name: mobile.charter.net Port: 587 Connection Security: SSL/TLS Authentication: Normal Password Username: full_email_address@charter.net

As it stands, I can send emails from my Thunderbird account to my various Gmail accounts that I have created while trouble shooting. My inbox has not updated since October 9th, 2023 in Thunderbird, but there are active emails coming into my account when I check my Charter web email inbox.

In addition to that, I have disabled all AV rules around email services. When I try sending emails in Safe Mode (Windows 11), I cannot send emails.

Fake MCAFEE SECURITY ALERT KEEP POPPING UP in the last 24 hours. How do I get rid of this? I do have McAfee and ran a scan. Scan results no virus. I do not want to lose the current tabs session that I have open, if possible??????

I had a similar problem with Thunderbird not accepting gmail addresses so my GURU said I would have to have a gmail address and account to access those people who have g-mail. What a nuisance that was but now I have NOTHING! Neither e-mail address and I have lost my address book. How in the world does this happen out of the blue? What has happened to typing and viewing the content of the search INSIDE the Google search box? Why this does not work now and the search moves to the address bar where it is tight and one cannot see all content of the search? Why have you done this? How can I bring it back please? I hate is as is now.

Added several email addresses to an existing address list, now get error "Choir-2023 <Choir members> is not a valid email address because it is not of the form user@host. You must correct it before sending the email." when trying to use the list. Other address lists are usable.

I have an IMAP account with a large volume of messages and attachments. My access to the account may be going away and I want to freeze a copy of the emails. Ideally this would be so that I continued accessing it through one Thunderbird instance where the account looked identical but instead of fetching the messages from an IMAP server, they were all stored on local disk. I do not think that I have this automatically right now, since I believe it hasn't downloaded every message from the server.

If this local copy also allowed me to delete messages from that store via Thunderbird that would be great, but not essential.

Searching for something like this just leads me to pages about the offline mode. Not what I want. To recap, I want to download all messages and attachments from a particular IMAP account to one machine and access them via the Thunderbird email account interface as though the account were still live, but read-only.

Some messages get duplicated in my outlook.office365.com Inbox. They both have the same date, time and content.

Deleting them deletes only one of them while the other becomes an empty message marked as received on December 31st 1969 at 7:00 PM.

Quitting and restarting TB make the duplicate / empty message disappear.

While this duplication is not very frequent, maybe 1 in 50, the following behaviour is constant. This has never happened in my Gmail Inbox. The duplicates appear only in TB, not in the Outlook web client. I have been using TB since a week or two.

First, I have more tech problems than I can shake a stick at and I m dealing with concussion and screens (monitors, cell phone, etc) aggravates and I don't track as well online as usual, so I'm asking for help sooner than I would hoping y'all can break it down very smply for me. Thunderbird v.59.2 on Windows Vista desktop. Yup, Vista :-) Cable provider died, so years of emails to addresses using isp-provided email addresses are in Thunderbird but can't use emails.

In short term got TMobile 5G wireless and it is hideous, beware! For now I use my cell as hotspot to get on internet on old desktop.

I'll list what I've tried in a sec, but here's my ultimate goal: I want to get AT&T fiber installed and hooked up on new desktop (Windows 11) and install latest thnder bird there and bring over old files. Before installing at&t I have to formally cancel with former cable provider (it's in an odd limbo). I've assumed it's better to cull all email addresses related to those email accounts before severing all ties.

I can't upgrade to v60 with Vista. I modified advanced config and added strict config Boolean setting and set to false and added check compatibility 59.2 setting and set to false.

The email crawler add on still gives me not compatible error. I restarted Thunderbird and that didn't help, unfortunately.

What can I do?

Again, my two main concerns are 1) harvest email address on my dead email accounts so I can send notifications of my new email addresses and 2) prepare to move all Thunderbird stuff to new desktop once I have working wireless internet to facilitate.

When I start up TB, the position of the index in the Inbox is not where I left it before shutdown.

I always sort by date and leave the index at the most recent email.

When I start up, for all mailboxes, the index is somewhere in the middle of the Inbox and I have to scroll down to see the most recent message.

TB never did this before.

Ver 115.0esr

Any way to fix this ?

Oh By The Way: This version continues to crash, at least once per day. Last time it crashed it locked up the whole OS (Win7). I do not recall any prior version of TB crashing, and I have been using it a long while.

Thunderbird just updated and ALL my folders are empty! Years of emails GONE! WHAT HAPPENED? Every single folder is EMPTY! The only emails I have are two that arrived just now after the update! Is there anything I can do? Is there a place where thunderbird stores them on my PC?

I have my Windows theme set to dark, so the fact a lot of people like to send emails where the text is set to black instead of default is kind of annoying, especially since with the email I'm currently trying to reply to, I can't seem to reset the color so I actually read back what I'm typing. HOW DO I STOP the background from being black? I can't read the URL i am selecting to copy in the URL address box. In prior versions, the use systems color option used to work. Now it doesn't. Plus the pull down that shows up is the most god awful seaform green i've ever seen. I WANT MY SYSTEM COLORS BACK

We have around 16 email accounts at our office we use web.com, for the last two weeks sending emails works sometimes but then it will take several tries to send any email. We get 2 different messages it either times out or says the outgoing server can't be found.

My regular profile has deleted all saved history, tabs, bookmarks, etc. This happened before and seems related to having private browings open. and to an update in progress or recent.

Opend a private window. Then noticed regular FF wasn't opened. I opened the usual profile and all saved info is gone. Also, my stuff to be synced is way out of date so can't restore from there (I always had sync up to date). My "backup" can't be opened to restore.

Where do I find yesrterday's info? How do I restore my session, bookmarks, etc?

Last time, I tried to follow directions I found soemwhere but the instruction werent clear at all and had to restore from a disk image.

Why is there stsill the private window deleting regular window?

Using Ubuntu 22.04.

I was having trouble with thunderbird email so I purged it. Created new IMAP account in Yandex.com. Installed new thunderbird deleted new default profile and restored old profile in profile.ini.

Thunderbird now works BUT it is downloading ALL 32000+ emails stored on Yandex server instead of just new emails. HEEEEEELP.

How do I get thunderbird to just email the last few days new emails?

I have 4 accounts in Thunderbird all with both incoming and outgoing servers set up and under account management they should all be using there individual SMTP accounts but no matter which one I send with it only sends from the default account which is creating all sorts of delivery problems. How do I delete the default account so it sends from the individual smtp accounts like it should do
