I recently re-installed Win 11 with the help of a Dell tool. During the re-install all of my data files were kept, but not the applications. I've re-installed Thunderbird and it works fine. However, I've noticed that my address book is empty. I've found abook.sqlite through the Profile Folder, so I know the file exists, but how do I connect it to the Address Book link in Tools? Thanks Sam

The ability to select "Done" for New Contacts is totally off-screen on the right when using part-screen (screenshot2 below). When in full screen only a part of the box is available to complete and entry (screenshot1 below).

I've tried adjusting font size and other stuff in Windows 10, but nothing changed the way the Thunderbird looks in this regard.

I created a Mailing List within an Address Book a year ago. I now need to add some new contacts to the Mailing List . I added the new contacts but could only add them to the Address Book. I now need to copy them from the Address Book to the Mailing List, but can't see how to do so , there seems to be no way to view the two lists side-by-side.

I have installed Thunderbird with Zorin 18 and it won't show contacts. Google says that Thunderbird has full access to contacts. Attempt to manually add contacts fails with message of "Can't connect to server". I did have to manually add the calendar to make that part work. Is this an uninstall and reinstall (Thunderbird that is) situation?

Thanks for your help

Recently, I needed to do a major upgrade to Fedora 43 so I did a full backup first for safety. After the upgrade, I needed to install Thunderbird to recover access to my email. For the first time in over 20 years, I had to re-enter the data for my various email accounts and now I find that my address book is gone. How can I locate the proper files in my backup and restore them while Thunderbird isn't running?

I have been trying to add a new contact to Personal Address book. This process refuses to complete through the "New Contact" panel. However, I have Thunderbird set to add addresses from all sent emails to the address book, and if I send that same person an email, the email address does get added to contacts list.

I very rarely use the "Add Contact" process, so I don't know how long this fault has been present.

Any help please?

I have moved my entire hard disk to a new computer and upgraded to Windows 11. My professional consult did it actually, I don' know how. But he moved the disk to the new computer and cloned its content to the new hard disk. In my address book all folders are empty, all. When creating a new mail, the addresses are all there so I can send emails to the people I want, even to groups. When creating a new sending list I can do so by typing the desired persons and their addresses will show. So all contacts are somewhere on the computer. But the folders are empty, so I can't drag and drop contacts to create a sending list. I can create new contacts and place them in any of the folders, but that will probably f-k up things. I'd be glad if it is possible to restore my address book. I realized that there are quit a lot of contacts that are obsolete, which I want to delete. I'm not native English speaking so forgive me if I got some terminology wrong.

I have been using Thunderbird as my mail service for many years, using it on the PC and my smartphone. Since several weeks ago, for an unknown reason, the "SENT" folder on the smartphone shows all the messages which were sent, but not with the correct name of the person/organization to who the email was sent. All my messages in the "SENT" folder are recorded as having been sent to "Lucie Payant" with a picture of her avatar, instead of showing the name of the real correspondent.

However, the "SENT" folder on my PC is fine and shows the correct correspondent to whom the email was sent to.

I verified all my settings, and, as far as I know, everything seems correct on my cell. This situation is very annoying and confusing.

Can you help me please. Raymond

I have been using Thunderbird for 20+ years and am on the latest version, but trying to eliminate what I believe to be old files from legacy versions that have been left behind. I don't want to delete anything and break Thunderbird, but wondered if these files were redundant:

abook.v2.sqlite + abook.v3.sqlite

These haven't changed since 2021 & 2022 apparently.

Also, I have a lot of address books (I find using addresses in a given address book excellent for email filters). Are abook-1.sqlite, abook-2.sqlite etc my individual address books?

If so, how can I tell which file belongs to which address book?

I also have v2 and v3 files (eg: abook-1.v2.sqlite) for most of these.

Hopefully this makes sense. Thanks in advance for any help.
