When I let thunderbird compress the inbox and other folders, the not read flags on all new emails get reset as if I have read all of the new emails. Compressing the inbox and other folders should have no effect on the flags showing a message has not yet been read. That only makes sense. The not read flags getting reset started happening several versions before 145.

I think I understand the difference between "folders" and Gmail "labels". So, I'm curious. When Thunderbird synchronizes with Gmail, does it create local physical folders for each of the Gmail labels in use, or does it use the Gmail label scheme locally? If a message in Gmail has two different labels attached to it, are there actually two copies of the message created locally in separate folders or not?

I sometimes want to give Message Labels two different colors. But it stays in the first selected color. It would be great if, regardless of how many I select in the Message Labels column, they appeared as small boxes with their colors (like Outlook). The current state might be good, but with multiple options, the list view mode and the reading view mode seem illogical.

In short, the same colors as the multiple boxes in the Reading section should also appear in the mailing list.

I think that's how it should be logically.

From the menu View - Folders - Tags i can view tags in the side bar, which is very helpful. My problem, as you can see in the picture i'm attaching, is that tags are not sorted according to the greek alphabet. Is there a way to sort tags? I'm aware that the first 9 tags are presets.

Hi, I'm Andrea, I'm writing because recently I have noticed problem with the status filter. When I'm creating a new filter and I'm appling a status contition, in the section where I need to decide the type of status doesn't appare anithyng ( view picture attached ). Am having an issue with creating a “new folder” in my inbox. I create the folder, shut Thunderbird down, re-open it and the folder is not there. Did this three times, same result. A

lso, having an issue with tagging. I will click on an email, right click, and nothing happens. I have to click on another email, click the original email, then I can tag it. I suspect a corrupted profile but, not sure. Any ideas?

My Tags window & folder [View, Folders, Tags] layout stopped properly displaying all my items with the appropriate "tag" set in the past few updates to T'bird. I recently switched to version 140.4.0esr but the problem existed before that in 140.2.1 as well. Is there any way to force a "rebuild" of the Tags window so that all my tagged items show in their appropriate categories, with appropriate statuses [read/unread, etc]? Otherwise, the Tag feature is no longer useful.

There is an mystery icon like an orange dot that appears alongside certain messages in the message list. I have attached a picture. Can anyone explain what it indicates.

I can tell you that it is NOT any of the following.

• Unread message indicator (these are shown in bold and have a green dot in another column)
• Junk mail indicator
• Threading indicator

I recently had to reinstall TBird 144. Now it does not display the TAG selections in the email headers. My program inbox is set to view: Classic, Folder and Message pane. The attached jpg show how it used to look. Thanks in advance.

I have two accounts AA and BB (as an example). One of them is my main account (AA) and the other account (BB) is set in such a way that from that account incoming messages automatically are forwarded to my main account (AA) inbox. The only distinction is the column "Receiver". In that column when Receiver is "BB" then it is coming from that account. Now I like to see that message line automatically also in another color to better distinguish the messages. It happens quite often that I reply to the open message from account BB, using account AA. And I didn't want that. Moreover, the recipient sees a different email address in his/her mailbox. That causes confusion.

Is it possible that the message that is automatically forwarded (or sent) from another account, causing the message to appear in my inbox (AA) automatically (now only manually?) in the color that is for example set in the 'Label' menu? So in my In-box I see the messages of two accounts. And to distinguish it easier for me I like to give the message of the other account another color. Is it possible (to make that)?

The article points to two add-ons: Google-4-TbSync TbSync but Thunderbird already syncs both Calendar and Contacts with Google without add-ons. What's the story?

In Outlook, it would say that "I replied to this message on xxx" in the header (not sure if that is what it is called, but near the top). I found it helpful to at least see if I have already replied to a message received. Is that feature available in TB?

When I save an email as a Draft, it appears in bold in that folder, so I am aware it is there. If I edit it and save it again, without sending it, the bold disappears, so I forget it is still unsent (unless I happen to click on that folder). Other email software allows you to click a button to highlight a particular email, but there seems no way to do this in Thunderbird.

I'm moving to a new computer and am having trouble getting the migrated Tags into the correct numerical order, same as on the old computer. Because the numerical order corresponds to keyboard shortcuts, it would be so very helpful. I know there was an extension that allowed you to set the order, but it's listed as through version 38 or therabouts, so I'm not sure if it would work. I figure maybe I could edit a Tag preferences file if it's in some sort of obvious text format. If anyone out there knows, I would be so grateful for your insight. Thanks.

I use extensively tags in my workflow, and I just switched from Gmail to Thunderbird. My only problem is that in Thunderbird, tags apply to a single message and not to the whole thread.

In other words, if I reply to an email with a certain tag, the answer is not tagged.

Is there a way to apply tags to a message and then the whole thread will keep the same tag?
