Hello,

My last month's browsing history disappeared (April 2021). It was there for a few days in May 2021 and I could see April in the "History" profile right under the "This Month" folder -as it should be. But then before I could get back to reviewing my April history, it disappeared. I believe this may have happened because my Windows 7 had alerted me that I was running low on diskspace while downloading... I maxed out my diskspace without realizing it may have cleared my browsing history to free up storage... maybe, maybe not...

So, in a panic of course, I view forums that talk about pulling up my Mozilla profile.

I try typing: %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\ in Windows and only find a single JSON file that I am not able to make sense of in an online JSON viewer...

I also tried installing a Firefox add-on SQlite viewer but I am having trouble finding what forums are calling "places.sqlite"... There is no SQ.LITE Manager under the Firefox 'Tools' tab...

I also tried to find the 'index.dat' file in a free online download of a dat viewer but i get this message: "Your current security settings do not allow this file to be downloaded' after droping the dat file into it... I will include a screenshot of this...

Picture 1: Dat viewer Picture 2: The only file appearing after %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\ entry into windows.... Picture 3: SQ.lite viewer.... Picture 4: JSON Viewer...before i drop JSON file Picture 5: JSON Viewer...after drop JSON file

Check mate. I don't know what else to do. I just need to view my entire month of April 2021 browsing history because Firefox crashed and did not restore my "restore previous session" a few weeks ago... I've never seen firefox erase browsing history so fast...

Please...please help. God bless.

one of my google accounts, which I have been able to sign in through firefox for years, suddenly started giving me an error message after entering my email address on the google sign in page. I have another google account and I'm able to sign i using firefox just fine. The error message given is:

This browser or app may not be secure. Learn more Try using a different browser. If you’re already using a supported browser, you can refresh your screen and try again to sign in.

I'm using a windows 7 box and Firefox 85.0.2.

I'm able to sign in just fine when I use google chrome. I've cleared cache and data in the browser. I'm not sure what else to try. Any suggestions? Any other information I can provide to help identify the problem?

Good Morning

Today I had to repair Firefox and after restarting, I felt a strange scrolling sensation, it was not the normal Firefox scrolling, I even thought I had openend the wrong browser...so I went check about:config , and found some values where changed as new default values:

general.smoothScroll.mouseWheel.durationMaxMS 200 general.smoothScroll.mouseWheel.durationMinMS 50

I tought it was me the problem so I installed an older version of Firefox (80.0) in order to compare, and found a normal scrolling and those values:

general.smoothScroll.mouseWheel.durationMaxMS 400 general.smoothScroll.mouseWheel.durationMinMS 200

I think this is a mistake from devs, if i wanted to have horrible scrolling, I could just use Edge instead of Firefox, could you please bring the original scrolling back to Firefox?

Thanks

Suddenly I have very old, deleted bookmarks reappearing in my bookmarks folders. I have to manually re-delete each one individually only to have them all reappear the next time I open Firefox. This has to end. What has Mozilla done? Another thought- if Mozilla does not keep any of our info how are bookmarks that have been deleted for more than 2 years deleted reappearing?

I got started using Firefox a few years ago. Once I got adjusted to the different controls, I really like using it, BUT...

I have updated it three times now (the last time was on accident after ignoring the notice for a long time). Every update breaks the browser for me. I start getting Windows that don't load - the dot just bounces but the window stays blank for hours. The browser fails to load anything. On restart I get message that Firefox failed to close properly. New windows take up to 6 or 7 tries to load a link, and the same for loading into a tab.

The first couple times I updated, I followed the guidance to save favorites, dump the browser and restart from scratch, then load everything back in. While it worked, it's a PITA for a browser that updates pretty frequently, and I think routine updates should be able to load without having to spend hours troubleshooting and reloading. I'm not stupid or computer illiterate - I manage a Linux server cluster at work, but I can't manage my Firefox at home through a routine update.

Can anyone help get Firefox to load and run properly such that it works even after an update? I hate Edge, and Internet Explorer, while easy to learn is full of security holes and often DOA at most websites these days. I refuse to go Google, and I'd prefer to not learn another browser. I like Firefox, but the post-update problems are killing me.

I hate the "This time, search with" in the URL bar. When I want to search, I use the Search bar for that. I don't need extra icons that I'm not going to use taking up space in the URL bar. I've seen it suggested that they can be removed in the Search options page. But when I've tried that, it also removes them from the Search bar.

Here's what I want: for the URL bar to only have space for a URL, no "This time, search with" nonsense, but the Search bar left completely intact, with all the search engines I use.

Hi, I see that Print Preview is gone, but I figured out how to deal with that by setting the scale in Print mode. However, I have noticed just in the past week or so, that no matter how the scale is set, the web page will NOT print properly. I tend to print mainly receipts for online purchases and recipes from various sites. This is now impossible. I've done the troubleshooting and refreshing to no avail - there seem to be no manual print settings for Firefox. I've had to resort to taking a screenshot and pasting it into a blank Word document, which of course shows all the webpage extraneous stuff that I don't want to see. Can you help?

Many sites do not have sign in on their hostname site. Without the full path, Lockwise does not come up/autofill. I tried the suggestion offered here to no avail. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1320590

https://auth.band.us is all Lockwise will save. Choosing email sign in brings up https://auth.band.us/email_login?keep_login=false which Lockwise does not recognize. I hoped setting signon.includeOtherSubdomainsInLookup = false on the about:config page would work but it does not.

Suggestions?

in settings I have turned off all enhanced tracking I could find but apparently it doesn't keep the browser from blocking stuff. I have to go up to the address line and turn it off there. I'm getting sick to death and if I can't stop this enhanced tracking I'm done with firefox. Before you say I need it, the browser is already set to delete all cookies etc and never remember history when I close it.

So how can i stop firefox from enhanced tracking stuff even though nothing is checked under the Custom box in settings?

Recently (a few days), I have noticed that math formulas are displayed as plain Latex code in a Moodle-based course viewed on my windows Firefox browser. There is no problem with other browsers and android devices. It seems to be related to the automatic update to the version 88 of the Firefox browser. Is any one else facing this problem? Does anybody know a solution?
