Chosen solution

You could set up a filter to forward new mail to the external address, but this would require that TB be running all the time. A better solution might be to have the mail downloaded to an account that can be accessed while you're out of the office, e.g. use Mail Fetcher with a Gmail account.

Of course, if the office account can be set up as an IMAP account, then the mail can be accessed from any device on which the same account is set up as IMAP.

It depends on whether or not you own the external address.
