ERROR LOADING MODULE: /s=3.0.2756.14/js/com/slacker/util/adobe/Omniture.js TypeError: com.slacker.util.CookieJar is undefined

Posted

Navigating to slacker.com I get this error but only after FF has been up for from a few minutes to several hours. Navigating to slacker.com will work for a while after restarting FF but fails again after some random time. When the slacker.com error (re)appears, some, but not all, other javascript applets also fail to execute correctly. Again, restarting FF fixes things but only temporarily. Java is current version, Version 7 Update 5; FF is version 27.0.

Hi pannetron, I understand that there is an error when you load slacker.com and that the error has to do with the cookie stored for the module: /js/com/slacker/util/adobe/Omniture.js.

Please try the following steps to troubleshoot further.

  1. Clear the cache and cookies How to clear the Firefox cache and reload the page
  2. Update your drivers and reload the pageUpgrade your graphics drivers to use hardware acceleration and WebGL
  3. Disable hardware acceleration. Since this feature was added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there still are a few glitches.

You might need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).

Then perform these steps:

  • Click the orange Firefox button at the top left, then select the "Options" button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to Tools > Options.
  • In the Firefox options window click the Advanced tab, then select "General".
  • In the settings list, you should find the Use hardware acceleration when available checkbox. Uncheck this checkbox.
  • Now, restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.

Additionally, please check for updates for your graphics driver by following the steps mentioned in the following Knowledge base articles:

So far so good! I'll let it simmer for another few days before calling it fixed. I had cleared cache and cookies before, drivers were already up to date. Maybe disabling hardware acceleration will be the charm?

It's been several days now and everything has been operating correctly since disabling hardware acceleration. Let's call this a solution!

I spoke too soon! While the problem did not recur for several days, it reappeared today :-(. I double checked that "use hardware acceleration if available" was unchecked.
