Unable to connect

Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at www.yahoo.com.hk.

The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.
If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection.
If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

I have reset firefox and reinstalled firefox, but still could not resolve the problem.

Do you want firefox to be going to that website when it starts? Are you able to visit other websites in firefox other than yahoo.com.uk? Are you able to visit the site from another computer on the same network? Can you browse the website from the same computer but from a different browser?

If you are able to browse other websites then it is not likely to be a problem with Firefox, but is more likely the website itself or a problem with the DNS resolution being used by your computer network.

If you cannot browse other websites this is most likely a networking problem rather than a Firefox problem.

If you can do what you are trying to do in another browser on the same system, but not in Firefox, then this is more interesting and you need help with Firefox, but please check and make sure it is a problem with Firefox first.

It is possible that your security software (firewall, anti-virus) blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.

Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.
