I can no longer log into my online banking website and have tried all of the suggested Firefox fixes apart from resetting Firefox, any other suggestions?

When I try to enter my customer number to log into my online banking website, an error message reads: This form has been re-submitted. Re-enter your customer number and submit only once.

When I called the bank to find out if they could help they said it was a browser issue and suggested I should use IE or Chrome (No thanks!).

I have gone through all of the Firefox suggested troubleshooting fixes including deleting the cookie files. I have not yet tried resetting Firefox as I was hoping for a simpler solution before taking this step.

Thanks for any help you may be able to offer.

Chosen solution

Hi there, Starting firefox in safe mode alleviated the problem temporarily and allowed me to access my online banking account. Great! thank you fo the advice.

I have tried to re-access my banking website in firefox regular mode as a test and the problem still exists there, so I will now look into the last help link above: Troubleshooting extensions and themes to see if I can find the cause of the problem. Thank You

Clear the cache and cookies only from websites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window.

If it works in Safe Mode and in normal mode with all extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) disabled then try to find which extension is causing it by enabling one extension at a time until the problem reappears.

Close and restart Firefox after each change via "Firefox > Exit" (Windows: Firefox/File > Exit; Mac: Firefox > Quit Firefox; Linux: Firefox/File > Quit)

Thank you again so much to the mozilla support team. With your guidelines and links I have been able to identify and disable the offending add-on which was causing the problem. Fantastic!

Hi mkmathai

Did you try to remove the cookies from that website?
