issues with adobe flash player 12
I'm running Windows Vista. After I install Adobe Flash Player 12 (once I select "Finish"), Firefox re-boots and goes to the Adobe site, but it loads very slowly, if at all. After a few minutes, I get a script error message. I then force quit Firefox and restart. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. If I log-off or restart and try to get back into Firefox, it says "not responding" in the website address bar. Firefox works is I create a new profile or remove Flash.
Any advice?

Hello,
Maybe help:
Try also starts Firefox in Safe Mode:
Also:
You can check for problems with current Flash plugin versions and try these:
- disable a possible RealPlayer Browser Record Plugin extension for Firefox and update the RealPlayer if installed
- disable protected mode in the Flash plugin (Flash 11.3+ on Windows Vista and later)
- disable hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin
While you are troubleshooting this, it might be helpful, to avoid unnecessary pain on sites where Flash is not actually essential, try setting Flash to Click-to-Play ("Ask to Activate"). This will delay Flash from starting on a page until you approve it.
To set "Ask to Activate", open the Add-ons page using either:
- Ctrl+Shift+a
- orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Plugins. Look for "Shockwave Flash" and change "Always Activate" to "Ask to Activate".
When you visit a site that wants to use the Flash, you should see a notification icon in the address bar and one of the following: a link in a black rectangle in the page or an infobar sliding down between the toolbar area and the page.
Of course, some pages use Flash just for nice advertising or to store/retrieve tracking data on your computer, so you really only need to allow it where there is some media you want to play.
Not a solution, but hopefully will help a bit.
For months, I get a "box" open in Firefox (26), that says: "Flash Player 12.0 r0 has stopped working" - gives me 2 options: 1 - Check on-line for solution 2 - close program
First option simply goes to "upgrade to the latest flash player" second option - doesn't seem to do anything
No option to "report" to Firefox at all.
I have checked and re-checked my installation of Flash Player and I have the latest version for my pc.
So, here is my "crash" report:
Problem Event Name: APPCRASH Application Name: FlashPlayerPlugin_12_0_0_43.exe Application Version: 12.0.0.43 Application Timestamp: 52cb9138 Fault Module Name: StackHash_fa66 Fault Module Version: 0.0.0.0 Fault Module Timestamp: 00000000 Exception Code: c00001a5 Exception Offset: PCH_09_FROM_ntdll+0x0003C1AC OS Version: 6.3.9600.2.0.0.768.101 Locale ID: 4105 Additional Information 1: fa66 Additional Information 2: fa6696398de2b9f98383d7a3bf5c3ea1 Additional Information 3: fa66 Additional Information 4: fa6696398de2b9f98383d7a3bf5c3ea1
I have tried also to get support from Adobe, with no success..;-(
Anyone have ANY ideas??? Is there a flash player that WILL WORK in Firefox?
Kadi M
Hi KadiM, a crash in "FlashPlayerPlugin_12_0_0_43.exe" indicates a process spawned by the Flash Player plugin's protected mode. Try disabling that feature. The following pages provide different ways to do that:
- Adobe support article under the heading "Last Resort": Adobe Forums: How do I troubleshoot Flash Player's protected mode for Firefox?
- Batch file to automate the manual steps: https://support.mozilla.org/questions/982093#answer-518078
You may need to close all pages using Flash, or exit and restart Firefox to end all the Flash processes, before you see any difference.
Heyyy...Jscher2000,
Can't believe it!..Did the "mms.cfg" fix, and it seems to be working!!
Haven't had a "crash" since implementing it. :--)
Keeping fingers crossed,
THANK YOU!!
