Google doesn't collaborate with Android b/c it created Android. ;)

Also Yahoo doesn't specialize in creating software really. Outside of the Yahoo toolbar, Yahoo messenger or Yahoo mobile apps they have, they don't know anything about creating real software. They have no experience creating a mobile OS. I also don't think they have the resources needed to start working on one either. To me Yahoo is a small search engine company whose search results are now delivered by Microsoft's Bing engine (weird, I know but true story. Google it to learn more) and besides offering web mail only specializes in media like gossip, news, sports and the like.

Even the "Yahoo! Optimized browser" you may have seen is just a easily customized version of Firefox that has a Yahoo icon added to it and bundles a Yahoo toolbar and has some search settings changed to default to Yahoo instead of Google.

I know you like Mozilla's Firefox OS and want to see it do well. But even Android took years to become what it is now. It takes a lot of work. There are no overnight successes. This is a multi year project at least. What Mozilla needs to do is keep working to make the best OS they can and maybe one day (3 years from now) they will have something that feels as responsive and smooth as Android. They also need good apps and app developers. Without that, no one will want to use a mobile OS with no good apps. Trust me on that! :)

Noah is right, it will take alot of great apps and developers to make Firefox OS great. It was started by volunteers and is all open source. After the announcement of other devices it will be great to see its growth.
