Will Firefox OS be available for Optimus L3?

I've been reading about the possibilities to install Firefox OS on the Optimus L3 but the information is mixed: it's not standard but it should work. I cannot find information how to do it (only errors).

Am I too soon and will it be possible in the future? Or should I just forget it? I'm not a technical man, just somebody who really wants to try it out.

Chosen solution

At the moment, the Optimus L3 isn't listed in the compatible devices at https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/Firefox_OS/Firefox_OS_build_prerequisites#Have_a_compatible_device_or_use_an_emulator . That means that if you aren't a professional in informathics, it's very complicate (maby there will be easy understandable instructions in the next month). Now, you can only hope that it will change but I think such an installation is always a high risk for a non-professional. Wether the hardware is able to run it is a question you have to ask at the LG support.

If you only want to use Firefox Apps frm the Marketplace, you can download them in the menu of Firefox browser for Android. For trying it out you can download the Firefox OS Simulator for FF om Win/Mac/Ubuntu. Sorry, but I don't know wether the installation on your L3 is possible or not.

Hello pollti, thanks for the answer, but I do not just want to try it out. I really want to install the OS. It's not available for the Optimus L3 right now, but there is evidence from Greeceland and Russia that it's possible. Unfortunately, I can't understand those languages and it's probably way out of my league to try something like they did.

So my main question is: will it be possible in the future (am I too early)? Is it the intention to make it easier to install Firefox OS on cheap telephones like Optimus L3.

Kind regards Joost
