how to find it: Click on the Firefox log(top left), then click on options, click on general, look down for downloads, you find your stuff there if you click on browse on the right side . you can change places to save your download or save on a specific place you wanna save your downloads

Also see the Where to find and manage downloaded files in Firefox article.

If you are missing the icon see the Customize Firefox controls, buttons and toolbars article for adding it back to the toolbar.

You can look for this file in the Downloads Manager (Library; Tools > Downloads) and right-click the file and use Copy Download Link to copy the link to the clipboard.
You can paste it elsewhere or switch to the History and paste the URL in the search bar in the Library to get the history entry.

I save my downloads to a folder named Downloads Then I delete all from the Tools-Downloads So I cannot know when and from where I downloaded the files.

Do a search in your computer with name of files that you download

When you remove a file from the Downloads folder in the Library then you remove its history entry as well.
If you didn't remove all other history yet then you can check what websites you visited during the time that you downloaded the file (look at its time stamp on the hard drive).

History window in Firefox is quite messy. I use to delete it all each other day. Is there an alternative ?

You would have to export the history to have a backup copy that you can search for downloaded files.

Oops, sorry.
These things happen when a thread gets longer and I open the link to the last post and forget read back to check the OS.

You probably will have to use the SQLite Manager extension with a proper SQLite query to export the history.

The new Download Manager treats downloads like other history items and adds an annotation (places table: moz_annos) to identify these items as downloads.

moz_anno_attributes defines those entries as:
17: downloads/destinationFileURI
18: downloads/destinationFileName

I am not willing to spend more than 1 minute on such a problem. Your sqlite - manager requires lots of precious minutes. Gameover.

Resetting Firefox takes about a couple of minutes, have you given that a try, You wont lose History and Bookmarks, but addons will be gone.

SEE: Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings article for more.
