Try another media player

hello, noscript cannot affect windows media player (the standalone media player, not the plugin within firefox), which is a totally different third-party program - the problem is most likely to be found somewhere else...

only thing that was changed. In the columns box ht artwork and the titles box are still checked but the words ate no longer bold type. Not skilled enough to know how to fix and microsoft naturally wants $49-$59 for tech support.

Thanks for the reply.

you could try if something in the sorts of this instruction works to correct the problem, but it really is an issue out of the scope of firefox' support...

Opened options on the tools pull down. Then opened all categories on that menu. Did not find a reset option. I'm running vista home edition if it matters.

I have used Media player always. Can you suggest another one other than itunes?

Now the list of attributes has gotten much smaller. I mean most of them are not even on the list anymore. I have a large library and with titles missing the albums from one artist are all together. All artwork appears in all other categories other than genre.

Note that your System Details List shows that you have a user.js file in the profile folder to initialize some prefs on each start of Firefox.

The user.js file is only present if you or other software has created it, so normally it wouldn't be there. you can check its content with a plain text editor if you didn't create this file yourself.

The user.js file is read each time you start Firefox and initializes preferences to the value specified in this file, so preferences set via user.js can only be changed temporarily for the current session.

Does it work in Safe Mode?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window.

I've got those two items in the Choose Columns dialog faded, but it seems to mean that I cannot uncheck those. The other ones, I can uncheck. (Attached screen shot is from WMP 12 on Win7)

You could try Microsoft's forums. windows media player 11 - Microsoft Community
