Chosen solution

The Wallpaper Rotator extension listed in your More System Details could be the culprit. It does not have good reviews: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/wallpaper-rotator/

Please see the links in philipp's post for steps to remove unwanted extensions.

hello, firefox doesn't include any screensavers... from your system details it looks like there is quite a bunch of possibly unwanted adware programs present on your system. maybe one of them is causing those issues.

please go to firefox > addons > extensions & remove any suspicious entries (toolbars, things that you have not installed intentionally, don't know what purpose they serve, etc). also go to the windows control panel / programs and remove all toolbars or potentially unwanted software from there and run a full scan of your system with the security software that you have in place and different other tools like the free version of malwarebytes & adwcleaner.

I AM UNUSED TO THE INTERNET AND STRICTLY NOT sAVVY WITH COMPTERS BUT IN THE FILES WITH mOZILL a - sorry caps lock Mozilla has a subfolder / Firefox - and in there are some bitmaps that appear on my screen as wallpaper - I game them the name screen savers by mistake They interfere with my operating my internet wordk and they stop me from using Windows Desptop Slideshws which I LIKE - so I hope is it alright with firefox to close it down and use I/E instead - which I must do for the sake of being able to use PROPER Screen savers and Walpaper provided by Windows - this page is unstable - keeps flickering - I m so out of here

Hello,

The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information. Note: This will cause you to lose any Extensions, Open websites, and some Preferences.

To Reset Firefox do the following:

  1. Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
  2. Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
  3. Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
  4. Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.

Further information can be found in the Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings article.

Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!

Thank you.

well with YOUR specific instructions - I did manage to find and disable - what worries me is how it ever got there - darn it jscher2000 - it is UGLEE You helped - I recognised from your link in your note - that the illustrations showed exactly what I had been plagued with - and there was a button to INSTALL - which I skipped - my PC is fine now
