Stupid question: Why will tinytots (and other similar fonts) not work in Firefox?

Posted

I'm a Tumblr user, so naturally if I were working on a theme, I would like to see the fonts I choose to be used. In Chrome, everything looks the way it usually should (relating to fonts). In Firefox, I have to specifically cater to both browsers so my theme doesn't look completely awful. I think a better browsing experience could be had if Firefox showed fonts such as tinytots for more than just me, but for anyone else who may not be brave enough to post about it. This leads me to another question: am I just ranting or is there already some way I can view these fonts and just don't know about it?

Chosen solution

This is not a stupid question.

Google Chrome has its own font library.
Mozilla Firefox runs off of the Windows font library.

To run fonts on Firefox, they need to be installed on Windows and then Firefox needs to be restarted.

Sometimes websites don't use the correct font name and the font can't be found, even if it is installed.
A good website designer would design a website with backup fonts for users to load if they don't have the font installed.
