enterted my usual tabbed files. went through them 3 times and not one crash.
culprit was symantec (norton)

</p><p>Someone has already mentioned Norton in this thread. Please note there is a known issue with some Norton software sometimes implicated in Firefox 24 crashes. Norton themselves are asking for more information.
