Blocked content isn't secure - always blocks a search in help.ubuntu.com.
The problem is that *every* search is blocked. So, if the search *result* is the same, only then is the "Disable protection on this page" going to allow me to see the result w/o taking the extra steps to allow a page to display. So, while I'm on the same main page "help.ubuntu.com", I have to click, click and then click again to view the resulting page every time that the search result is "new" to this Firefox feature.
This is not a problem with Chromiium or Midori.
Can this be fixed? I'd like to continue using Firefox . . . though this problem makes it difficult to.

You can set the Boolean pref security.mixed_content.block_active_content to false on the about:config page to disable blocking this kind of active content.

How about toggling on/off mixed content blocking?
That secure page displays Google results that come via an insecure http connection.
- Web Console (Firefox/Tools > Web Developer;Ctrl+Shift+K) > Net (you need to reload the page)
You can consider use Google instead to prevent this blocking.

Sadly, Toggle Mixed Active Content 1.0.rev14 by fredy, doesn't override Firefox 23.0 default that continues to block my searches in help.ubuntu.com I'll just downgrade to Firefox 22.0 I don't like Google & Chromium lack of privacy.

My Deepest apologies to fredy and the wonderful Mozilla team -
It Works :-) "Toggle Mixed Active Content 1.0.rev14 by fredy" works Perfectly! :p My user error - Red icon means show all content, Green icon means to block mixed content. My bad, instinctually, subconsiously I intepreted Green to mean "go ahead, it's doing what I want". Ouch, dummy me!
i am having the same probplem but only with the yahoo mail, firefox 27.0 every time when i go to my email i must select :Disable Protection for this Page

What kind of content is causing this problem?
You can open the Web Console (Firefox/Tools > Web Developer;Ctrl+Shift+K) and check the Net log for lines with a red vertical bar and a mixed content warning icon.
Clear the log and reload the page to get an updated log.
