googlegroups and twitch.tv won't load properly (no content displayed) cleared cookies/cache, nodnsprefetch=true, made sure no proxy, safemode, didn't help! The rough page layout works fine, but the actual tv-content (twitch) or the actual message texts (ggroups) won't show up. Also, clicking on the prefernces wheel in ggroups will display a small, empty box instead of a drop down menu filled with stuff. The pages all work properly in chromium.

Note that youtube and normal google search, freemail provider pages, news pages and basically all other pages i can think of work normally and 100%!

I'm using linux 64bit, firefox 22. This problem however, is not new, it happened with older ff versions too. I'm just tired of firing up chromium each time, so i decided to report it here to get a solution.

Chosen solution

Alright, after moving a lot of files and file contents around, I found a solution:

Removing the line user_pref("dom.storage.enabled", false); from prefs.js fixed the problem.

Thanks.

I have Ubuntu 13.04 with FX 22 running and twitch.tv displays OK. Your shockwave plug-in looks outdated to me - my version is 11.2.202.297.

See plug-in check to get it.

Thanks, my flash plugin actually has the same version. (And it works in chromium). I tried downloading the flash plugin from Adobe's website anyway, and replacing the one I have installed, but it didn't make any difference.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

See "Creating a profile":

If the new profile works then you can transfer some files from an existing profile to the new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.

A new profile worked. I was able to view twitchtv and googlegroups correctl in a newly created profile.

I will try to follow http://kb.mozillazine.org/Standard_diagnostic_-_Firefox#To_fix_the_problem_in_the_original_profile

and if it doesn't work, I'll try transferring the other profile over.

It's really just bookmarks + a few typical extensions, I wonder why the profile got corrupted, I'm not really doing anything spectacular, addon-wise or whatever, with Firefox. But I do have this same profile for many years I guess, maybe in some firefox update something broke.

We'll see how it turns out, finally I got a pointer on how to proceed, thanks.
