Firefox launches multiple times without me prompting

I tried restoring my system windows 7 ....no help. I tried to remove Firefox, got MSG that it was "still running" and although it wasn't running...could not remove it...

Chosen solution

From my own experience: the message "still running" is correct, because there is still a Firefox (or two or more) running in the background. To remove them

  • start Task manager
  • sort the list in processes tab and
  • delete the Firefox entries

Of course you can get rid of them by simply booting the PC.

  • start Task manager
  • sort the list in processes tab and
  • delete the Firefox entries
