I keep getting blasted with http://valid.extremeweathercenters.com/this/?ilmernzkvta=00A0D15B81C73E63&pu=&s=D-iexplore&nm=ilmernzkvta. This is a Firefox virus.

Every day, with or without the internet pulled up, a Firefox screen pops up on my desktop (often interrupting work I'm doing in Microsoft Word) even when the computer is just resting and no one is working on it, and tries to get us to download different programs. This last time it was trying to get me to download the latest version of Internet Explorer. The link is http://valid.extremeweathercenters.com/this/?ilmernzkvta=00A0D15B81C73E63&pu=&s=D-iexplore&nm=ilmernzkvta. We cannot find a way to get rid of it. When searching it, we are told that it is a virus specific to Firefox users, through the internet.

hello, please go to firefox > addons > extensions & remove any suspicious entries (toolbars, things that you have not installed intentionally, don't know what purpose they serve, etc). also go to the windows control panel / programs and remove all toolbars or potentially unwanted software from there and run a full scan of your system with the security software that you have in place and different other tools like the free version of malwarebytes & adwcleaner.

in addition please update your plugins (some of them are out-dated & have security vulnerabilities that are actively exploited on the web).
