Is there any way I can customize Firefox so that the page itself looks significantly different when it has already been visited (in History)?

I would like a very clear indicator that I have been on the page before. Link Status Redux does not do the job because it is not blatant enough. The bookmark star is also not big enough. Maybe something like - changing the color of the background of the page when it has already been visited.

I'm not sure which of the following you are looking for:

  • Change appearance of a link if you have visited that link before so you can avoid visiting the page at all (similar to Link Status Redux but more visible)
  • Change the appearance of a page you currently are viewing if you have visited that page before (I'm reminded of that bar on Amazon that tells you when you last purchased that item)
