Firefox Will not startup with home page. Keeps on bring up where I left off every time I start firefox

Firefox keeps on opeing up where i left off instead of starting with my home page. I am using the lastest firefox with windows8. Dosen't happen with windows7. This has happened with the latest update.

Chosen solution

Replacing the pref.js didn't fix the problem I have just done a firefox default reset and that has solved the problem.

Hello darknido, see if you have set Show my windows and tabs from last time go from Firefox button > options > General panel > Startup > When Firefox starts > UNSELECT Show my windows and tabs from last time, click OK to save it.

The setting is set as show my home page. I have done all of the genral things to solve the problem without reinstalling or resetting firefox.
