Can't get Gmail notifier to install. Using Windows XP Professional 2002.
Just had my old computer rebuilt. Lost GMail Notifier that was working fine. Need to get it installed but I keep having to abort before it's installed. Thanks.

Could you describe the problem you're having in more detail?
Also, do you mean this one or a different one: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/gmail-notifier-restartless/
I tried several different Gmail Notifiers downloads including the one you list above and none of them worked -- IOW, there was no beep or whatever when an email message came in and there was no beep or whatever when a person I was chatting with responded in the chat window. The only thing I can think is, I'm home from work now (I was trying to install it on my work computer) maybe tomorrow morning when I restart my computer it will work. Is there anything I need to activate in the control panel? I doubt it, because I checked all the settings there and all other sounds are working fine. Thanks.
The one linked above is designed to check whatever Gmail account you are currently logged into. I haven't tried it (or any of the others) myself.
So what kind of help is that? It's not working and you tell me, tough luck, because you haven't tried them either?
Hi MJHofacre, most extensions are supported by their authors. I can help with ones I use, and other volunteers will pitch in as they can, but in this case I didn't know any more about it than I could read on the download page.
I installed it and it recognized that I have a lot of unread messages. It didn't notify me audibly of new unread messages, perhaps because I have so many already. ??
