Firefox does not Sync my bookmarks from my PC to my Android Phone (Zombie problem is back again!!!)

Posted

Hi,

I'm using Firefox 18.0.2 on my several PC's and synch works fine between them. But on my Smasung Note 2 (Android 4.1.2) Firefox could never synched bookmarks from PC. However opened tabs seems to be synchronized from PC to my mobile phone. But none of mbookmay PC rks seems on my Phone. I got no error message after synch operation on my android phone. But no bookmarks synchronized.

All options including Bookmarks selected under what to synch menu. I also tried only to select bookmarks, but helped.

I'm waiting this feature to work during a few months, through different firefox PC and android releases, now as a final hope I'm contacting with you.

My synch usename is buyukbang@gmail.com and I'm using default Firefox server.

I'm sure there is a bug blocking my bookmarks to be synched to my Android Phone , I really want to help Firefox devs to fix these bug.

Regards....

Hi there. Sorry for delay in responding... Kindly try uninstalling the firefox and then re-install it once again. See if that helps. If not, then follow the below instructions:

1. Launch Firefox and click on the "Firefox" menu in the top left corner. 2. Select "Bookmarks" from the menu and select "Show All Bookmarks" from the cascading menu. 3.Select "All Bookmarks" in the navigation menu on the left. 4. Select the "Import and Backup" menu and choose "Export Bookmarks to HTML." 5. Name the file in the File Name field and choose the location where you want the export file to save. Click Save."

Import Bookmarks

6. Copy the file to a flash drive and move it to your new computer. You can also attach the file to an email, email it to yourself and download it on your phone.

7. Launch Firefox on your phone. Select "Bookmarks" from the menu and select "Show All Bookmarks" from the cascading menu.

8. Choose "Import Bookmarks from HTML." 9. Navigate to the file that you created from your computer and click "Open" to import the bookmarks.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the answer !,

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling twice, unfortunately this doesn't help :(

For your second recommendation, html import, I believe this will work, but this is not what I would like to have. I need continuous synchronization between my PC's and my Phone without manual import export.

Sİnce firefox mobile have this feature, I belive there is a bug that should be fixed by Mozilla developers.

Question owner

Help please. I really want to use firefox mobile with its advertised synch feature working.

Question owner

What you did I don't know but Firefox mobile synchronisation just simply started to work ! Thank you very much !

That's was great to know...! Cheers mite.

Question owner

Unfortunately sync stopped working again for the las 4-5 days. My mobile device does not receive bookmark changes in my PC. Sync tab says process is successful but does nothing really.

Any comment please?

Question owner

I reinstalled both PC and android applications but didn't solve the problem. Please help :(

Well, everything seems alright to me here. Can you try contacting Samsung and see if they have any alternate option for you?

Question owner

I contacted Samsung and they said I should use chrome instead of firefox.

Is this the official solution you approved instead of bug fixing? If so I'll click "Solved the problem" button, really!

But If you want to investigate and "fix" the bug I would be more than happy to assist to Mozilla since I'm a firefox fan for years and I want to use firefox mobile, too.

I'm not a newbie on PC/android, actually I'm a expert software developer and I believe there is nothing that can be done by helpdesk support here, instead this issue should be forwarded to developers to investiagation. This was the purpose of my messages here.

If I'm on the wrong platform for firefox bug reporting, could you please direct me the right URL.

Thanks

Having the same problem. Uninstall and reinstall did not help. Is there any progress on this? I'm using the latest android OS, and sync is working just fine on my other devices. The android phone is syncing my tabs but not my bookmarks.

Also, the Firefox input site won't allow login - there seems to be something wrong with Persona. Maybe it IS time to switch to Chrome.

Unfortunately this issue isn't solved for me. Firefox simply couldn't synch on Android. I even tried a clean Firefox installation with a new synch user/pass on PC and on Android. I don't really think this feature works on Android ????
