I just updated 18.0.1 last night and the problems began immediately. Even this site I had to allow as an exception then when it loaded it has no colors, no menus, etc. This is happening for facebook, parts of amazon, etc. I get "This Connection is Untrusted" when I try to load gmail, log in to Amazon, trying to load this support page, etc. However I have no problem with google.com, wiki, and other random websites. I need this fixed as soon as possible, I have a deadline for my job and can't open my email to send files.

I am relativity tech savvy, but reading through the forum about firewalls, and such did not help me. I'm completely lost, panicking and three seconds away from just completely wiping my computer.

Chosen solution

Check the date and time in the clock on your computer: (double) click the clock icon on the Windows Taskbar.

Which security software (firewall, anti-virus) do you have?

Check out why the site is untrusted (see the Technical details) and if this is caused by a missing intermediate certificate then see if you can install this intermediate certificate from another source.

Some firewalls monitor secure (https) connections and send their own certificate instead of the website's certificate.

You can retrieve the certificate and check details like who issued certificates and expiration dates of certificates.

  • Click the link at the bottom of the error page: "I Understand the Risks"

Let Firefox retrieve the certificate: "Add Exception" -> "Get Certificate".

  • Click the "View..." button and inspect the certificate and check who is the issuer.

You can see more Details like intermediate certificates that are used in the Details pane.

Madperson: accounts.google.com uses an invalid security certificate.

The certificate is not trusted because the issuer certificate has expired. The certificate expired on 6/7/2013 3:43 PM. The current time is 10/31/2013 11:44 AM.

(Error code: sec_error_expired_issuer_certificate)

Is that what you need? The funny thing I noticed also is it is saying that the certificates have expired and they are 5+ months in the future. My calendar is up to date on my computer.

OK, I feel like an idiot. I double checked the month and it was wrong. *headdesk* Thanks for all of your help. Glad I didn't wipe the computer. Sorry to waste you guy's time! Oh man, I'm embarrassed.
