Hi,
How do I do to take away the java plugins that I have in FireFox? They are inactivated since a long time and I do not want them in the plugin list.

Firefox Menu - Tools > Addons > Plugins.
I have already disable the Java.
My question is: How do I permanently remove the Java plugin?
r
Uninstall Java from inside the Windows Control Panel.
Thanks for the answer,
But I need the Java runtime for the web editor I use, so I can't uninstall it totally.
I just want to take the plugins away
There mus be a way to do that .....
re
Which web editor? Are you sure that web editor doesn't need the same plugin? If that web editor is "powered by Mozilla" it may need that plugin.
Are you talking about plugins (Tools > Add-ons > Plugins) pr Java Console extensions (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions)?
I'm talking about a web design tool I use to make web sites. But since the java plugins have been inactivated since a long time I'm sure it does not need the plugins.
Shouldn't there be an easy way to just remove the plugins?

Plugins aren't installed in Firefox. They are part of an external program; Firefox uses the Windows Registry to locate applicable Plugins which are "registered for Firefox".
So, to "take away" a Plugin either edit the Registry (not advisable) or remove the program that installed the Plugin. But disabling the Plugin will keep it from being active in Firefox.
To remove Java entries from the Firefox Add-ons listings, do the following. This will leave Java installed on your system for other programs that need Java, but will remove Java from your browsers.
- click Windows Start > Control Panel > Java. The Java Control Panel will open.
- in the Java Control Panel, click on the Security tab and un-check the item in the top image below
- in the Java Control Panel, click on the Advanced tab and un-check all 3 times in the red box on the image below. If you see other browsers listed under "Default Java for browsers", un-check those items as well.
- click OK at the bottom of the Java Control Panel window.
- exit then restart Firefox. All Java entries should disappear from the Firefox Add-ons listings.
