What is UpdateTask.

Posted

This request pops through out the day. The actual file is (UpdateTask.exe.). The address is 199.7.52.72: Port 80. What is purpose of this file? Do I need to allow it to update? If it is not needed, how can I block or delete it?

I'm not sure what Updatetask.exe is, but it isn't a part of Firefox. You can try to scan for malware, Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware or uninstall any unwanted programs (I read that this may be a part of the Ask Toolbar, try uninstalling that if you have it).
