Firefox 17.0.1 crashes constantly and randomly, cant fix?
Recently, Firefox has started crashing whenever I used the google searhbox or loaded a webpage. I created a new profile, but the crashing still continued without any add-ons installed.

We're sorry to hear that your Firefox seems to be crashing. Please perform the following steps to give us a crash report ID that helps us find out more about the cause of the crash.
- Enter about:crashes in the Firefox location bar (that's where you enter your website names) and press Enter. You should now see a list of submitted crash reports.
- Copy the most recent 5 report IDs that you see in the crash report window and paste them into your forum response.
Thanks in advance for your help!
More information and further troubleshooting steps can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox crashes (closing or quitting unexpectedly) article.

The problem is flash player, update your flash player..
Please check if all your plugins are up-to-date. To do this, go to the Mozilla Plugin Check site.
Once you're there, the site will check if all your plugins have the latest versions. If you see plugins in the list that have a yellow Update button or a red Update now button, please update these immediately.
To do so, please click each red or yellow button. Then you should see a site that allows you to download the latest version. Double-click the downloaded file to start the installation and follow the steps mentioned in the installation procedure.
The update page says that Flash Player is up to date. I downloaded an update for Java and installed it, but Firefox says that it is outdated, even though it shows the previous version that i had installed. IT crashes when I try to go to the Yahoo home page, as well as when I try to go to the add-ons page.

Firefox v17.0.1 continuously crashes or stalls especially when left "alone" and then I come back to it and it is dead in the water. The screen is frozen to where I have to kill the process to regain control of the computer.

Hi Fedora13
Do the crashes still happen in Safe mode?
Safe mode disables the JavaScript JIT compiler.

Hi mkillerbunny
The crashes are caused by Norton software like Norton Confidential or Norton Identity Safe as can be seen by the coFFPlgn.dll or couictlr.dll in the crash signature of the crash report (bug 783369).
You can disable Norton extensions/toolbars in Firefox to see if that helps.
Hi, I'm having the same problem for a couple of weeks now. My crash reports are:

Hi johnrobert76
That looks like a problem with the Flash plugin.
You could try older versions of the Flash plugin to see if this is still happening.
These are the error messages I'm getting when mine crashes. It does it quite frequently and it's becoming rather annoying. Any help would be much appreciated!

Hi 76peanut
Your crashes are caused by the drivers of your graphics display card.
You appear to have two display cards installed.
Try the suggestions in the thread:
