You may need to exit then restart your browser after updating Java in order for the correct Java version to show on the Plugin Check page. I found it necessary to do that. I too have this problem. Current installed version of Java is SE7 update 9 but the add-on manager still shows it as an older version even after restarting Firefox browser. Running Firefox 17.0.1 under Windows 7 32bit SP1
