even though the firefox pop-up blocker is on, a pop-up (for Ford C-Max) appears when I go to CNN Headlines news. How do I stop this.

Not much to add in the way of further details. the pop-up blocker simply does not seem to work with this particularly Ford add when I go to CNN Headline News. Is there any way to stop it?

You could get the Adblock Plus extension with an Easylist subscription, and maybe also the Adblock Plus popup blocker adjunct.
