I notice that since upgrading to the latest Firefox version, Marriott.com website does not load properly. Specifically, the page only loads initial content. But other content, including my ability to sign in to my account, do not load.

Chosen solution

If it does work in Firefox Safe-mode then disable all extensions (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one extension at a time until the problem reappears.

Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.

  • Press and hold Shift and left-click the Reload button.
  • Press "Command + Shift + R" (MAC)

Try to clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Firefox > Preferences > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Firefox > Preferences > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do not click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.

Thanks, but no such luck. That was suggested in the FAQs, so I had already tried them. I appreciate the effort to respond though!

Can you attach a screenshot?

Use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot.

Thanks for responding. Great idea! Please find it attached here.

Note the middle of the window, spinning wheel. In previous versions, and in current Safari version, that spinning wheel spins for literally about 1 second, and then media, including a sign-in box to enter my password appears.

In the current Firefox version, the wheel just spins and the page never finishes loading.

A spinning wheel usually indicates that some JavaScript or a plugin is trying to load content.

If the above posted steps didn't help then try a new profile.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

See "Creating a profile":

If the new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.

You can also try to reset Firefox:

Ah...now we're getting closer!! When I start Firefox in Safe Mode, the page essentially loads. I'm attaching a copy so you can see what it usually looks like.

But I can't continue to run Firefox in Safe Mode and have full functionality.

I presume this is a problem with one of the plug-ins? How do I isolate the problem?
