Those are not a part of Firefox, but is programmed into the web sites that you visit. Install one or both of the following add-ons. I use both.
- Ad-Block Plus - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/adblock-plus/
- after installation, subscribe to a list at - https://adblockplus.org/en/subscriptions and keep it updated
- AdBlock Plus home page - https://adblockplus.org/en/
- Ghostery - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/ghostery/
- Ghostery home page - http://www.ghostery.com/
