Why doesn't Picasa work correctly since I upgraded to the latest Firefox for iMac desktop?

I have iMac with osx 10.6.8. I have been using Firefox as my browser for years and have had a Picasa account for about the same number of years. There haven't been problems.

After the latest upgrade of Firefox, there are problems with Picasa. - When I am in an album (any album) and click on a single photo, I get a blank page. If I refresh, then the photo will show up. - When I have a single photo on my screen and want to go to the album, I get a blank page. If I refresh, then the album shows up. - I can no longer edit the captions under the pictures. It seems as if I am editing, but the changes don't save. - I can't edit the album title or description no matter what I do. - If I send a link to an album or photo to friends who use Firefox, they have the same problems and refreshing is the only solution, which they find annoying. - If I use my Safari browser, the problems don't exist.
