why am I getting security warnings for sites that want to send me to go.timedirect.ru

Posted

It only happens on my laptop that runs Vista. The sites I am trying to access are not malicious. I have been using them for years. (funeral home sites, goverment lottery sites) I have included go.timedirect.ru in my adblock plus list but this did not help.

The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information. Note: This will cause you to lose any Extensions, Open websites, and some Preferences.

To Reset Firefox do the following:

  1. Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
  2. Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
  3. Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
  4. Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.

So far...so good. Thx Tylerdowner. Some info I probably included in my original post. A scan with ESet Antivirus produced no virus...same with MalwareBytes, but everything looks OK now...thx again.
