Both Firefox (Web Console) and Google Chrome (Developer Tools > Network) have build in tools to check how long it takes for files to arrive.
I see that the initial load of the main index file can take considerable time (I've seen variations of 10 to 20 secs), so it is hard to tell if there is a real difference or that it is caused by the server performance/response.
