I'm making changes in WordPress, but Firefox is taking an hour or more to display the changes. I see the changes on Chrome and IE, but not Firefox.

Posted

The changes aren't showing instantly in Firefox like the usually do, but other web browsers are showing the changes.

Hi cfbell2003,

Please try clearing the cache. I am guessing firefox is loading the web page as it used to be from the cache.

I hope that helps but let me know if not.

It is usually best to reload web page(s) and bypass the cache in cases like that as posted above

  • Press and hold Shift and left-click the Reload button.
  • Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
  • Press "Cmd + Shift + R" (MAC)

Question owner

I've tried that. It doesn't work. On the average, the changes I'm making in WP are taking 1 hour to show up in Firefox.

This only started last night. Usually I have no problems with Firefox at all.

Does it work in other browsers?

It is possible that pages are cached elsewhere (ISP or the hosting server or maybe a router with a cache).

Question owner

It works in Chrome and IE.

I called the hosting co and they reset the server, but still no change. Firefox still takes like an hour to show the updates.

Does it work if you clear the cache of the last hour or possibly everything?

Question owner

I'm doing CTRL + F5 and no, it is not working.
