problems with silverlight

Posted

I am running Firefox 12.0 Win 7 home premium. My Microsoft Silverlight keeps crashing and I don't know where to look for the problem. I only get the notice that Silverlight has crashed and I need to refresh the page to fix the issue. This only happens in my livemail account. Is anyone else having this problem?

How do I track down the problem? Nothing too complicated, I'm a novice. I came here first because I always seem to get better assistance here than I do at Microsoft. Many times they just blame it on the browser and suggest I switch to IE8 or 9. (It ain't gonna' happen!!)
         thanks in advance,
                              lige

p.s. after I refresh the page it seems to fix the problem temporarily.

-> Some of your Firefox Plugins are out-dated, so you need to Update them. Just go to the following link:

Check and tell if its working after updating your Plugins.

mha007,

I have always kept my history set at "remember nothing" and I use Ccleaner a couple times a day so I'm not dragging around a bunch of useless stuff.
I do keep my plug-ins updated. I check them almost daily. And I make sure I uncheck the optional download boxes!! I learned my lesson the hard way on that issue when I accidentally ended up with searchqu as my home page and search engine! What a job to remove it that was! Those people should be shot at sunrise!

So, I do appreciate your help but I don't believe any of these issues are the culprit. If you know any other avenues to explore I'll give them a try.
             Thank you very much,
                                      Lige

I have cleared my cookies and cache. As far as safe mode and troubleshooting extensions, the problem is too intermittent. I wouldn't be able to tell if it was resolved or not because I can't make the fault happen by performing some action.

It only happens a couple times a day and only when I'm reading my mail. It's probably a MSN/ livemail issue. I just thought maybe someone else had the same problem.
                               thanks,

As stated earlier, the problem is too intermittent to get any conclusive results utilizing the aforementioned troubleshooting techniques. I could open in safe mode & disable every app and plug-in and it won't tell me anything because it does not fault out every time or when I perform a certain function. It is a random occurrence.

        thanks for your time,
