This is the second email - the prior I was asked to clear cookies from FireFox. I did this and it somewhat worked better. However, the performance is terrible, the load times; if it loads, take minutes. When trying to reply it doesn't always work. Even if I close Firefox, clear all history, cookies, links everything - it may work slightly faster until I reply a few times. Then it's back where it was. I tried windows IE and it's functionality for GMail sucked, I was forced to load Crome. I don't want to use Crome - please, please fix the compatibility with GMail so I can again brag on how great Firefox is...

I will not try anything else until update 1 is available so no need to reply. Just please work on this. I'm sure Google is putting junk into the scripts or objects or something that is causing people to strictly use their systems... Google sucks too....

Hi TexasRoadHouse, you might want to add updates to your original thread so people can keep track of your details. That thread is:

Prior to release 12 - GMail worked fine, now the reply and other menu items fail | Firefox Support Forum | Firefox Help

You can always get back to your past posts using the "My Contributions" filter:

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions?filter=my-contributions

Finally, I'm not sure what "update 1" is but if you get frustrated waiting for it, you could check whether one of your add-ons might be at fault. The standard diagnostic step for that is to try Firefox's Safe Mode.

First, I recommend backing up your Firefox settings in case something goes wrong. See Back up and restore information in Firefox profiles. (You can copy your entire Firefox profile folder somewhere outside of the Mozilla folder.)

Next, restart Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode using

Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled

In the Safe Mode dialog, do not check any boxes, just click "Continue in Safe Mode."

If Gmail works correctly, this points to an add-on or custom setting as the problem. Sorting out which one can take a while, but disabling everything nonessential would be a good start.

Any luck?

Hello TexasRoadHouse

Like jscher2000 said, please read foremost: Back up and restore information in Firefox profiles - before attempting anything ..

I got some possible solutions you could try, one of which you probably don't like, but maybe are forced to temporarily while Gmail is partially broken. I myself have had problems with "clean" Firefox installations and Gmail. Like JavaScript/button events not being handled, when for example pressing on buttons such as 'Archive'

EASY ROUTE (Switch to Classic HTML View (Gmail) ):

By visiting: https://mail.google.com/mail/?ui=html (I could not find this option in the current Gmail User-interface- so here's a direct link!)

POSSIBLE FIX: Creating a new profile, which not only clears your browses memorized data- but also your preferences, old Firefox version and extension-variables, and more- try: Profile Manager - Create, remove or switch Firefox profiles

Other things you could try: Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode

Consider a stand-alone mail-client such as: Mozilla Thunderbird

^ They don't break compatability and they are in general more reliable than web-emails ..

Hope that helps, Christoffer.
