Firefox crashes if I open more than 2 tabs, and it will crash repeatedly. This has happened ever since I updated to the newest version of Firefox.

Chosen solution

according to the crash signature & the relating bug report this is related to covenant eyes software. do you have that on your pc? - you might want to disable that temporarily until they get it fixed.

there's another issue - according to your submitted system details you have a out-of-date version of the java plugin installed on your machine which is a serious security thread since it opens your pc for infection by just browsing a malicious webpage (and it is commonly used in the wild). you should update to the latest version as soon as possible - download it from [java.com]

Hey BrendenH,

Have you tried starting Firefox in Safe Mode? Hold down "shift" while Firefox is starting up. If the crash doesn't happen in Safe Mode, you should read Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems.

There is also a lot of useful stuff in the Troubleshoot Firefox crashes (closing or quitting unexpectedly) Knowledge Base article.

Another very helpful troubleshooting step you could also try Creating a new profile.

Hopefully this helps!

@madperson: you were right. It is Covenant Eyes. It appears they haven't updated to accommodate the newest Firefox update. Thanks for the help!
