How do I get rid of previous version of Firefox from applications?

I don't seem to be able to delete the older version of Firefox. I get the message that the application is open and so cannot be removed.

If you restart your computer, then try to remove, will it work?

Is there a specific problem you are having that you need help with other than just removing? I would try updating over the old version of Firefox by downloading Firefox 12 from www.getfirefox.com
